Last night on Dancing With the Stars, Mya
and Dmitry earned the season’s first perfect 10, putting them leaps and bounds
ahead of the rest of the competition, who all fell within one or two points of
each other.
Joanna and Derek get to reprise their
futuristic paso doble (and not Dmitry and Mya’s samba), which points to who
really should have gotten those ten’s last night. Right, Carrie Ann?
And, just as quickly as Joanna and Derek
got the encore, they were also the first couple saved from elimination tonight,
meaning they will dance in next week’s semifinals.
It’s back to Monday night’s competition,
where Tom gets to go over all the drama. Looking back on it, I didn’t think
Mya’s samba was that good. I feel wrong for saying that because it’s the only
thing to get a perfect 30 all season, but maybe it’s just me. Back to the
results (after a performance from Michael Buble): Mya and Dmitry are safe.
Since there’s three dancers left on the
block and next week is only the semifinals, it’s safe to assume this week isn’t
another double elimination. DanceCenter performs, complete with commentary from
season two’s Stacy Keibler.
Next up is this week’s Macy’s Stars of
Dance performance: Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas doing a paso doble to “Eye of
the Tiger.” In tiger costumes. Which America voted on. This filler just keeps
getting longer, doesn’t it?
Michael Buble sings again (which I can
never get enough of), then the next safety is revealed: Donny and Kym. That
puts the not-so-surprising pairs Kelly and Louis and Aaron and Karina in the
bottom two. At this point I’ve just accepted the fact that no one votes for
Aaron and that he’s probably going home. At least my votes counted!
More filler, this time with Susan Boyle, the
Britain’s Got Talent overnight superstar. She belts out “I Dreamed a Dream,” which still sounds
as good as it did on YouTube.
Back to the final results, which I feel
like is just delaying the inevitable. I keep pleading my TV to put me out of my
misery, and at the same time I keep asking myself why I’m such a fan of Aaron
Carter. Why? Then, Aaron and Karina were announced as the next couple going
home. Anticlimactic and sad.
Tune in to Dancing With the Stars on
Monday at 8/7c on ABC to see the four remaining stars dance for their lives in
the semifinals!
