Buffalo Bill Museum - Golden, Colorado

Eddie McClintock, from the very good new SyFy show “Warehouse 13”,  joins the TAPS team on his break from the show to help the team investigate the gravesite of the famous “Buffalo Bill.”  Evil spiritual forces are said to occupy the museum, along with the apparition of a cowboy, of course, who is said to roam the halls of the museum and may be one of many spirits that people hear whispering throughout the building.  One worker was approached by a white mist that actually went through him and pushed his head back.  Another woman reported being pushed down the stairs.  Items in the gift shop have been said to violently fall of the shelves.

As always TAPS co-founders, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, started of the night investigating with their new buddy Eddie McClintock in the gift shop.  Eddie got the creeps and it turns out that their were high EMF readings being recorded, meaning Eddie is the type of person who does feel the effects of higher EMF readings which may make him a good ghost hunter.  Later in the show they investigated the big electrical towers outside of the museum and registered very high EMF readings and this could very well be part of the uneasiness felt by people working and visiting the museum.

Amy Bruni and Kris Williams investigated the area where a worker experienced a “white mist” that seemed to push his head back.  They began an EVP session and believed that something may have made a sound on one of the glass encasings.  Hopefully something was caught on the various recording devices.  As they continued their investigation they both believed they heard a voice and tried to identify where it came from.  Of course there was no one to be found.  They believed it may have been some type of mechanical equipment making the noise.

The review of the evidence did not reveal anything to make note of and you kind of had that feeling during the investigation that the spirits of this museum were not coming out to play.  It was interesting that they didn’t spend any time by the grave of Buffalo Bill, or at least show that they spent time investigating and trying to make contact with him at his grave site.  Obviously TAPS could not call the museum haunted.

Oakland Hall - Eatonton, Georgia

Built in the early 1800’s, the Oakland Hall survived General Sherman’s “March to the Sea” but has apparently left a history of paranormal activity.  For the past three years, residents are said to feel nauseated and sick and you have to wonder if high EMF levels from old wiring is causing these problems.  Even if that’s the case, a ghost child is said to roam the halls, along with other apparitions that have been spotted on the grounds.  Electrical equipment is also said to turn on and off.  Shadow figures are also said to appear and, at times, change the quality of the air.

Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango started out this investigation up in the attic where a handicapped girl of one of the former families was kept and is now said to haunt the house.  All of a sudden a grunting/scratching sound scared the pants of both of them and they could not determine where it came from.  Later in the show two spent time investigating the main floor where a shadowy figure has been seen in the stair area heading upstairs.  Nothing to report, even after Kris and Amy investigated the same area. This show was heading south fast.

Jason and Grant were the last to be shown investigating.  They tried to debunk the TV and VCRs shutting itself off, as well as, other electrical items acting strange.  Yes, people apparently still have VCRs. While they were in the room both systems shut off.  The cord had come out of the wall and the question was did one of them trip the cord.  They brought in a electrician and felt that due to wiring and bad cords, these items were not performing properly.

The review of the evidence did reveal an EVP from the investigation in the attic by Steve and Dave.  They heard a noise, asked what it was, and the response was “It’s ….” something or another.  Couldn’t really make it out but there was some type of response to their questioning. TAPS wasn’t calling the house haunted and you couldn’t blame them.

As a long follower of Ghost Hunters, it’s hard to say this but the show “Ghost Lab” on Tuesday nights on the Discovery channel, is blowing the Ghost Hunters show away right now when it comes down to research, equipment, and show production.  Hopefully the SyFy channel has taken notice and is opening up the pocket book a little more to compete.
