Last night on Dancing With the Stars, it
was Joanna and Mark’s turns to top the leaderboard in a surprising shake-up of
the standings. Meanwhile, Kelly, Michael and Melissa all tied for the bottom
spot, making it the biggest toss up week yet for results. However, the mambo
marathon at the night spaced everyone out a little more, placing Michael and
Anna at the very bottom—could it be their week to go home?
Let’s just say I won’t be surprised if
Michael and Anna don’t go home. I mean, let’s get real here—he’s made it this
far being on the bottom edge, what’s one more week? Well, this week it might be
a little harder because of the dreaded double elimination. That’s right, the
couple with the lowest combined score (judges’ points and votes) will be
eliminated, and the next bottom two will compete in a dance-off, where the
judges get to decide who’s leaving.
Here come the safeties: first is Joanna
and Derek, the top scorers of the night. Could it have been any more obvious?
Next are Mark and Lacey, who were also at the top. I think I’m starting to
sense a pattern here…
Next, Donny and Kym are safe as are Aaron
and Karina. Honestly, I could stop watching right now and I’d be happy, because
finally Aaron and Karina clawed their way out of the bottom. Tiempo Libre comes
on for a rousing performance and another example of how far our celebrities
have to go, then we get to go behind the scenes of the costuming department at
Dancing With the Stars.
Mya and Dmitry are the next couple safe,
followed by Kelly (whose birthday it is tonight) and Louie—leaving Melissa and
Mark, Louie and Chelsie and Michael and Anna in the bottom three.
Unfortunately, one of them (cough, hopefully Michael, cough) will be eliminated
right away, while the other two will have to dance for their lives.
Another hit star hits the stage this
week—this time it’s Taylor Swift singing “Jump then Fall” and “Love Story,”
both of which are great additions to the show, and serve as great filler. Back
to the results, where we learn that the couple going home first is Melissa Joan
Hart and Mark Ballas. Shocking! Yet again, the two worst dancers escape
actually elimination, but one of them will be going home after the dance off.
Michael and Anna are up first and they
pick the samba, which was Michael’s best dance. He seems a lot more comfortable
with it this time, and he seems to be a lot more personable while he’s moving.
The judges say the technicality still wasn’t there (which it wasn’t), but it
was still fun to watch. Louie and Chelsie do the jive, which obviously suits
Louie because he can be all gymnastic and stuff, impressing the judges. It was
quick and fun, but again there was some content missing.
In the end, Bruno picks Louie and Chelsie, while Len picks Michael and Anna to stay. It comes down to Carrie Ann Inaba, who eliminates Louie and Chelsie because she thinks Michael and Anna have done better over the whole season.
Tune in to Dancing With the Stars on
Monday at 8/7c on ABC to see who can dance to the top and who’s got the best
shot at going home!
