Last time on The Biggest Loser 8, Tracey suffered
a huge setback when she was told her enzymes were attacking her own body and
she had to severely restrict her movement. Without exercise and with last
week’s challenge of having to eat out all week, most people thought she would
fall below yellow line. Instead, she dropped four pounds, helping keep the
Purple Team safe. Julio and the Brown Team were up for elimination, and Julio
ended up getting sent home.
This week, the chance to workout with
Jillian and Bob is over. Instead of being in teams of two, all the contestants
are separating into two teams: Bob’s Blue Team and Jillian’s Black Team. Of
course, there’s a temptation twist.
Allison has several silver platters, some
of which have calorie-ridden foods, one of which has $1,000, and one that has a
golden ticket, which would allow the holder to choose the teams. Everyone but
Abby decided to take the temptation this week. The first four were all unlucky,
getting calorie-loaded foods. Then there was Tracey, who, surprise, surprise,
picks the golden ticket, once again throwing the whole game into turmoil.
Immediately, everyone was concerned that
she would split up all the teams. And though she kept her and Mo together and
Daniel and Shay together, she split the other four down the middle. Added on,
she picked Bob to train her team, which gave Jillian more reason to despise
Tracey. The new teams are:
Blue: Tracey, Mo, Allen, Liz, Rudy,
Rebecca
Black: Daniel, Shay, Abby, Danny, Amanda,
Dina
Even more pissed than Jillian, however,
is Liz, who wanted to remain with Danny. On top of that, she has to be on
Tracey’s team. Thus, a rivalry is born. Judging by the way things have been
going, I’m not holding out much hope for Liz, but if she can turn things
around, then good for her. At least Liz is working out hardcore—it seems like
she’s going to let Tracey get any farther in this game over her dead body.
For this week’s challenge, each team had
to carry one member over a hill and through some mud. To make it simple (for
once), the first team across the finish line wins videos from home. Honestly,
it was no contest. The Blue Team slaughtered the Black Team, winning the
heartfelt reward for the week.
After an intense and highly dramatic last
chance workout, the teams are ready to weigh in. You can see the fire coming
out of Liz’s eyes towards Tracey, and the pure hatred radiating from Jillian’s
face. I think it’s gotten to a point where it’s too much, because now the show
is lagging with how much everyone hates Tracey.
Because the contestants are now in two
teams, there is no more yellow line. Instead, the team with the smallest
percent of weight lost will go to elimination. There, the “biggest loser” of
the team will have immunity, while everyone else is vulnerable to getting voted
off. The weigh-in for this week goes as follows:
Blue Team:
Allen: -7
Liz: -8
Mo: -6
Rebecca: -7
Rudy: -8
Tracey: -7
TOTAL: -43 (-2.56%)
Black Team:
Abby: -5
Amanda: -6
Daniel: -11
Danny: -10
Dina: -6
Shay: -16
TOTAL: -54 (-3.05%)
With Liz immune and Tracey vulnerable,
you can see the axe slowly swinging down, ready to cut Tracey’s string. Liz is
beaming, Jillian looks smug and everyone feels like they know what is coming.
At least, that is until Mo speaks up and says that he’s not losing the weight
on the ranch, so he wants to go home. Silence follows.
At the elimination, the Blue Team follows
through on Mo’s wish, unanimously voting him off. You can tell, though, that
their sympathy is genuine, both because they didn’t want to see Mo go and
because they wanted to see Tracey leave. Now that he’s been home, Mo has lost 33
more pounds and is well on his way to a healthier lifestyle.
