USS Salem – Quincy, Massachusetts

TAPS finds themselves “On a Boat” again…a really big boat.  Unfortunately T-Pain and Adam Sandberg could not guest host this show like Meatloaf did on the last weeks show.  The battleship was built between 1945-1949 and was mainly used to keep the Russians away during the cold war.  The caretakers of the ship have seen shadowy apparitions, voices telling people to “Get Out,” a woman in white walking through the galley’s, and a ghost so real that people have mistaken it for a tour guide and have claimed to have conversations with him.

As always, TAPS co-founders Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, began their search for the ghostly tour guide named John, who actually worked in the anchor room.  They began hearing footsteps, some voices, and may have been the first to see the shadowy apparitions that have been previously reported.  Amy Bruni and Joe Chin, from Ghost Hunters International, investigated the hospital room where voices have been reported to tell people in the room to “Get Out.”  On two occasions they heard a sound that sounded like something rubbing up against some metal but could not re-create the sound or identify where it was coming from.  Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango investigated the kitchen area and Steve tried his best to get Dave to eat an ancient piece of cake that happened to be lying on the ground.  Dave usually takes Steve up on his financial dares but this one he was passing on.  After their dare session was over, they did notice an audible thumping noise, maybe a noise, maybe somebody sending out an S.O.S.  The minute Steve said “Hello,” assuming someone upstairs was making the noise, it stopped.  Jason and Grant were again engaged in sounds of footsteps walking around them followed by some subtle noises, but no one else was around and they could not debunk the footsteps.  Kris Williams, dressed a little hotter than usual, and Joe Chin, dressed like Joe Chin, did their best to communicate with the ghosts during their EVP session but did not get any audible responses and could only hope they would get something on their voice recorders.

The team, especially Jason and Grant, seemed to have a good amount of personal experiences, mostly mentioned above, and you had a feeling something had to get caught on their recording devices.  One EVP came about while Jason and Grant were in conversion and unknowingly were being communicated with but what was said could not be heard.  TAPS wanted to come back for another investigation and believed it was haunted but didn’t go overboard on that conclusion…pun intended.

Cornwall Jail – Ontario, Canada

Old prisons and jails seem to have a lot of paranormal activity and this jail, built in 1834 would be no different.  Shut down in 2002, it now serves as a museum.  Current caretakers of the jail see a shadow of a large man walking around in the solitary confinement area, jail doors slamming, an apparition of a man in a cell, in which a inmate committed suicide, and people also report hearing footsteps and a woman screaming.  A woman and been raped and murdered in the jail hallway and it’s pretty obvious this horrific event is being replayed.

Steve and Dave started the investigation in the regular jail area and tried their best to communicate with the ghosts but did not receive any audible responses back to their prodding.  Kris and Amy drew the unlucky card of investigating the solitary confinement area and found very high EMF readings coming from the electrical cord conductors and Amy had a lot of trouble dealing with being there.  Could those from the after life be feeding of these high electrical spaces?  While Jason and Grant were checking out the area where the woman was raped and murdered, one of the jail doors slammed shut.  Kris and Amy were the next to investigate the protective custody area and outside of being scared by a mannequin placed in a cell for the visitors, nothing notable occurred.

The Cornwall jail won big on the creepy scale and Jason was still dumbfounded by the jail door closing shut, one of the major occurrences during the investigation.  This is one of the major claims by the current caretakers.  The team did get a recording of what seemed like a woman screaming, a sound that they did not hear when investigating.  One interesting fact was that the jail was built on limestone and limestone tends to be a conductor of paranormal activities.  TAPS did not call the jail haunted but definitely wanted to come back and investigate again meaning they believe something is going on.
