Last time on Biggest Loser 8, Tracey took
hold of the game by sacrificing her own chances of losing weight. She lost her
use of Jillian and Bob for the week in exchange for an advantage at the next
weigh-in—then downed four cupcakes to get the right to choose which member of
each team would count for that team’s weekly weight loss. It eventually came
down to Red (Antoine and Sean) vs. Orange (Daniel and Shay), when the teams
spared Orange of elimination, sending Antoine and Sean home.
This week brings another challenge for
the contestants to the ranch: eating out. Everyone walks into the kitchen only
to find everything chained up—and Allison there waiting for them. The twist
they all have to deal with this week is every single one of their meals is
coming from eating out. Finally, Biggest Loser is addressing problems that
Americans can identify with rather than those that just add drama to the game.
Speaking of drama, after last week, Shay
is pissed at Tracey, especially since Tracey told the orange team she would
pick Daniel, only to pick Shay at the weigh-in. Had she picked Daniel, the
orange team might not have been up for elimination at all, but Tracey still
insists that she picked Shay because she thought Shay had done a great job last
week.
Next, more tragedy hits, this time for
the resident villain, Tracey. According to Dr. H, she has huge enzyme problems
and these enzymes are attacking her muscles. His prescription for getting
better? No exercise and very limited movement, because anything of that sort
could permanently damage Tracey’s kidneys and liver. Tracey is, of couse, very
upset and starts to bawl.
When the contestants get all the food
they ordered out, they still got extra dressing, extra cheese and extra bread,
which was a clear attempt to try and recreate a real-life situation, because in
the real world, nothing always comes exactly as if it’s ordered. With the help
of Bob and Jillian, however, everyone is able to work around it, learning more
about eating out in the process.
For this week’s physical challenge,
everyone is placed on a platform above a pool, which gradually gets steeper
with time. The catch? Everyone only has a handlebar to hold onto, making it an
intense endurance competition. It eventually comes down to Allen from the Green
Team (Abby is sitting out due to an injury) and the Orange Team. Shay falls in,
but so does Allen, giving the win to Daniel and Shay, who both win free food
for a year and, more importantly, immunity.
The last-chance workout looks particularly
hardcore this week, but you can see the fast-food weighing heavy on everyone’s
minds, both Bob and Jillian and the contestants. Many of them head into the
weigh-in with a negative expectation, while some are hoping for the best. The
results are as follows:
Daniel: -0
Shay: -5
Orange Team Total: -5 (-0.69%)
Rudy: -11
Dina: -5
Blue Team Total: -16 (-2.57%)
Coach Mo: -8
Tracey: -4
Purple Team Total: -12 (-2.21%)
Allen: -7
Abby: -3
Green Team Total: -10 (-1.97%)
Amanda: -5
Rebecca: -4
Pink Team Total: -9 (-1.86%)
Danny: -8
Liz: -3
Brown Team Total: -11 (-1.74%)
Julio: -4 (-1.09%)
So, even though Tracey didn’t move at all
this week and ate just as much as everyone else, the Brown and Black Teams are
up for elimination, angering Shay and visibly upsetting Jillian. Bob still
thinks that Daniel is playing the game because he was immune and didn’t lose
any weight. Personally, I don’t see the point in sabotaging yourself for a
whole week just because you’re immune, but Bob is very insistent.
In the debate, both teams obviously don’t
want to leave. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to defend yourself in one
of these things, because there’s really not too solid of a ground to stand on
for an argument. After some whimpering and tears, Julio says he doesn’t see why
he deserves to stay here over the Brown Team, and it seems like he’s making a
sacrifice. At the vote, everyone ends up voting for Julio except Rudy and Dina,
who vote for the Brown Team, eliminating the only solo team on the ranch.
Since being home, Julio has lost 65 more
pounds (he’s now at 299) and he hopes to be at 200 pounds by the season finale.
Stay tuned to RealityWanted for an
exclusive interview with Julio, and be sure to tune in to The Biggest Loser 8
