Hell's Kitchen Season 6

by Chef Rock
Winner of Hell’s Kitchen Season 3

Suzanne, Suzanne, Suzanne.  What can I say? A lot actually!

Let me say this: there is no editing of the show that makes someone look other than they really are. I looked quiet at first because I am. Brad accused me of flying under the radar once. He was right; I did fly under the radar until I made my move, that’s how I am. Sometimes people called me arrogant and cocky, I can’t argue with that either, I have been known to be pretty “confident”.

So, if you think Suzanne is annoying on the in Hell’s Kitchen, she would probably be like that if you worked with her in the kitchen. They way she works has gained her success in Las Vegas, and will get her more. But, her style can be a pain.

I have met just about all of the contestants and they are all very cool peeps; Suzanne included. She and some friends actually came to my restaurant in DC and were awesome. We had a couple drinks, shared some laughs, and talked shop a bit.

All of the contestants are what you see although, 99.9% of the time, there is A LOT that leads up that we don’t see. So when the contestants looks like a-holes, sexists, lazy SOBs, annoying snobs, angry punks, or self-absorbed ego-maniacs; it’s because something “had happened” to make us do it!

On with the shows!

In the challenge, the chefs had to cook with product that is abundant in British Columbia, near Araxi. I won’t go over the challenge, but I don’t get how Sabrina doesn’t speak up and say “Hey idiots! That’s not lamb!” I think she gave up and alienated herself. As “un-chefly” as it may seem, Tennille is quick to say she has never worked with a product. I think that’s an admirable trait.

I think this episode was all about Van being tested and pushed to the limit. As we all know, he failed. I truly believe that Van is better than his last couple of days in HK. I think the pressure got to him and it affected his work. Sabrina looked as if she gave up. The pressure is intense in that place and is crumbled the best. As bad as it is, it is nothing compared to the realities of the real world. So if you can’t handle HK, you surely can’t handle the pressure of winning.

They combined to one team after Sabrina left and they were ridiculous. This usually happens when they merge; it’s tough cooking with the enemy for the first time. Ramsay actually walked out of the kitchen! I do know that he is truly trying to run a restaurant, so when he gets down and disappointed he really means it. Walking out though? I don’t think so. I thought it was a test that Tennille, Kevin and Dave seemed to do well on. But, it was no test. Ramsay and Scott came back and threw Van, Suzanne, and Ariel out! The remaining chefs rocked it.

Let me give you a tidbit. There are 100 cover each night, sometimes less. 50 each side, that’s it. So it kills me when the chefs say, “I didn’t know how many we were going to serve.” Just FYI.

I do have to say that Tennille did switch the game up at the elimination. I totally get the integrity thing, that’s all you have. But, where was your integrity in the dorms? I get it, I’m just sayin’.

On to the rankings! It’s getting close, who is your winner and why?

5. Suzanne: Same here; very talented but she won’t win.
4. Ariel: She’s very good, but this competition isn’t hers.
Tied - 2. Tennille: Love her or not, she lead the way and is rising to the top. Gordon walked out but I bet he saw the tape.
Tied - 2. Kevin: I really should make him tied for first, but Dave is killin’ it. Kevin’s a beast, though.
1. Dave: Got to be the leader. My man is in obvious pain and still leading the way!
