This week, The Biggest Loser unveiled their 8th season, with the theme being second chances. After the contestants got to know each other a little bit, they chose each other as partners to work with this season. Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels decided to team up to work with the teams this season instead of competing against one another. At the first weigh in, the black team (Julio and Alexandra) fell below the yellow line. In the elimination room, the contestants decided to send Alexandra home. Today, she spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview and finally dished on who her secret crush was on the show!
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What motivated you to go on The Biggest Loser? Have you ever tried out for the show before?
A. Alexandra: I really was inspired by season 7 contestants and saw auditions last February. I auditioned in New York, got a callback, but unfortunately, didn’t make it through. Being the go getter I am, I drove 11 hours to North Carolina five days later and, here I am, a contestant on season 8!
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was your reaction when you saw that you had a challenge before you even got to the ranch?
A. Alexandra: I was not surprised that we had a challenge. The Biggest Loser is all about surprises!
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How difficult was it for you to see Tracey be taken to the hospital after the race?
A. Alexandra: It was a wake up call for me to see her being taken to the hospital, that I needed to really change my unhealthy life style. I really looked forward to getting to know her.
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You and Julio were kind of matched up as the last two contestants without a team. Do you think that hurt your team dynamic?
A. Alexandra: Julio is an amazing person, however, because were the last two standing there, I really didn’t have much of a choice. He did help me when I was on the ranch but if I would have had it my way, I would have chosen my secret crush.
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you feel about working with both trainers this season, as opposed to one?
A. Alexandra: It was a wonderful experience to have both trainers because they motivate in two completely different ways.
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Why did you seem so angry with Julio after the weigh-in?
A. Alexandra: I was so upset because I did an amazing job, I had one of the higher percentages, and I thought since we were a team, he was a guy over 400 pounds, that he would have had a higher number the first week. I knew that I was a threat in the house, and my dream of being The Biggest Loser was about to be crushed because someone else didn’t do what they needed to do. I was angry because I wanted a chance and his weigh in threw any chance I had away.
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What are you doing at home to continue your weight loss journey and do you have a goal for finale night?
A. Alexandra: I am balancing a full coarse load at my university, reaching to make dean’s list, joining a sorority, and working out to reach my goal. I am now happily dating someone from the show! My goal is to get below 200 pounds because I have been over 200 pounds since 5th grade.
Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Any chance you'll fill us in on who your crush was on the ranch?
A. Alexandra: I am happily dating Antoine from the show. We are working on making healthy choices together and helping each other through this tough process.
