“My Ego is Bigger Than Your Ego”

 

Tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta begins with NeNe going to a spa to get Minx Fingernails with Sheree and Kandi. Yes, that’s right; it’s like a grill, but for your fingernails!  While there, they talk about the Alter Ego photo shoot that is upcoming with Derek Blanks! Of course, as always, there is a catch. NeNe will be directing and she is choosing the alter egos.

 

Lisa invites Kim to meet for wine and to clear the air between them. Rumor has it, Kim has been calling Lisa a “crack whore” but Kim defends herself. Kim is saying that she has Google Alerts and she only repeated what she read, but Lisa zones out….she says she gets “exhausted” from hearing Kim try to cover her lies.

 Lisa apologizes for attacking Kim about being sick, but doesn’t believe that Kim wasn’t talking trash.

 

Meanwhile Sheree is hanging out with Kandi, getting to know her. They meet at a bakery and Sheree asks Kandi about her friendship with Kim. Kandi, of course, stands by the fact that Kim hasn’t said anything about her so Sheree says “your day will come”. Kandi defends Kim, saying “Why do you keep saying my day will come?”

 

Sheree moves on to ask Kandi about her upcoming engagement, and if Kandi has planned a party. It turns out that some of A.J.’s (Kandi’s fiancé) nephews were staying over at the house, Kandi and A.J. allowed them to go out one night, and they ended up getting hit by a drunk driver. Now, most of them are okay, but one of the nephews is in the I.C.U. Kandi and Sheree both get upset by this, and Kandi says she has postponed the engagement party until the kids are healed.

In the meantime, Kim hires a new nanny after explaining to her that if she needs tampons, well, they can get delivery for that! Go Publix!!

 

NeNe visits Lisa, now that they are living in the same neighborhood. They have wine and talk about Lisa’s meeting with Kim. NeNe is worried that Kim won’t show up. NeNe wants Kim to be dressed up as a black woman, but Kim is fighting it and doesn’t want to do it. 

Later, Greg drops NeNe off at the photo shoot.

 

First up is Lisa, who is a good girl and a bad girl. First she dresses in a pseudo-Girl Scout outfit, and then in a bad girl/vamp outfit.

Kandi is up next, and she has chosen to be a drunk driver and a pedestrian.

 NeNe fixates on Kandi, since they seem to have a strange personality conflict that only comes out once in awhile…NeNe repeatedly asks Kandi if she is going to be “good” today, which Kandi reacts to by asking NeNe is “she will be good”. They have already gone head to head about being “ghetto”. NeNe thinks Kandi is ghetto.

Kandi says if she is ghetto, NeNe is MORE ghetto…NeNe says “NO way, I am from Athens, which is NOT the ghetto.” Uh oh…things are starting to get a little tense between these two!

 

The shoots go well, until Kim. NeNe has her in a black bob to dress as a Stepford Wife since she has ditched the “black girl” outfit. Kim hates the wig, but really, doesn’t NeNe know that Stepford Wives are blond? Honey, just look at The Real Housewives of Orange County!  Either way, Kim is then a “mistress” which as Lisa points out isn’t much of a change. I wish they would have stretched Kim a bit more. NeNe should have saved that black bob for a “Betty Page-esque” dominatrix, and done a blonde wig for the Stepford Wife!
Sheree finally interrupts the awkward silence between she and Kim in the studio, once they are alone, by asking her about Kandi’s nephew. Sheree wants to throw Kandi a party because she feels so badly for her. Kim agrees.

 

Sheree is a fashionista, and then a bank robber, referencing her huge, expected divorce settlement.
Finally, with Kandi directing, NeNe is a horrified, pearl wearing puritan at a strip club, and then the stripper for her Alter Ego shoot. Greg says that NeNe “Strips for me every night” and he strips for her too! Who doesn’t LOVE Greg?!?

 

Next week, NeNe debuts the photos, Lisa throws her affordable fashion line runway show, and Sheree doesn’t show….tension between Lisa (who is debuting her affordable fashion) and Sheree (who is promoting her own fashion line She by Sheree) ensues!
