Hell's Kitchen Season Rock

Winner of Hell’s Kitchen Season 3

I missed you guys last week! Lot’s to cover so let’s jump right in!

Tennille cursed the chef out on last week's episode of Hell's Kitchen. I’m sure this has been discussed at length, but I will just add my two pennies. My hometown hero is talented, but I think it was a bad move. Gordon Ramsay likes when his cooks fight for themselves and take a stand, but I think she went a bit far. Doesn’t matter what I think, he gave her the chance to redeem herself and she looked pretty good. Jim got the boot, as I thought. He and Tek seem like easygoing people and hopefully will make a great couple.

This week started with a Vegas-style challenge. The chefs rolled dice that were lettered; they then chose ingredients based upon their rolls. I have to say that I think this is one of the coolest challenges I can remember.

It seemed as if the girls were going to run away with the challenge when they chose their ingredients. The guys somehow managed to pick a weird mix of food, but made do with it and won the challenge. Robert was absent, by the way. In my opinion, they are correct in thinking they are better off with him. Robert is still high off of last season and just isn’t performing that well. He’s a nice guy, and probably a good chef, but this competition isn’t his.

It isn’t Andy’s either. He should have gone home but Chef Ramsay had to show that it wasn’t ok for Robert to stick around in his current state. Andy is the weakest link, corny but true. He will be gone soon.

As far as the ladies go, Suzanne is reaching her boiling point. She isn’t there to make friends, and that’s not a good thing. If she made the final, all of her cooks would hate her. Doesn’t sound like a good strategy to me. From what I can see, she is trying to play the role of chef. Can you say annoying?

Ariel is still the best (I contradict myself in the rankings) on the women’s side, but she is still has to make her move which, hopefully, will be soon. Tennille may not have some of the knowledge the others do, but she seems to know the most important thing about cooking; it has to taste good. I think that Kevin is still the leader on the blue team. Even though Dave is a true soldier for performing with one arm, he lost some cool points with picking figs on the challenge. Van is coming on also! You gotta love the guy, his energy is on point. I think America got the wrong impression of him and he is doing very well right now. We all know that Chef Ramsay loves someone who progresses throughout the competition; just ask the guy who cooked frozen gnocchi!

Thanks for reading, on to the rankings!

9. Andy: If it weren’t for Jim being slow and Robert being done…you get it. Adios, amigo.
8. Suzanne: Ehh… I dunno, do you? A little too busy ‘round the mouth for me…again.
7. Sabrina: Yes chef, no chef, yes chef, no chef only gets you so far. Now cook.
6. Amanda: She may need to yell a bit more, but she is gaining ground in my book.
5. Ariel: Not a good move with the garlic, but she still performed beautifully in service.
4. Tennille: She is gaining confidence and that could mean trouble for the other ladies, she’s got that heart to back it.
3. Van: The tatted up country boy is on the rise. I loved his approach to the chef’s table: “Aiight, I gotta go. What y’all want?”
2. Dave: The figs ended up being a good move, thanks to Kevin, but Dave is clearly going for the win.
1. Kevin: To me, he looks like this is child’s play for him.
