Big Brother 11

When we last left off on Big Brother 11, Lydia had just been evicted in her hideously heinous leotard and the houseguests were in a fight to the finish for the week’s HoH power.

Kevin seemed to have a really good hold on the competition and had a significant lead for the whole time—until Big Brother threw a twist into the competition. Each houseguest was given six gold cans that, when put into the tube, said houseguest could freeze another houseguest for 60 seconds. Russell made the first one and froze Kevin, who then made one and froze Russell, prompting a war between the two. Since one kept freezing the other, Jeff was given the chance to catch up and, by one can, Jeff wins Head of Household.

Since it seems like most of the bigger personalities have left the house, there’s really nothing left to focus the episode on except on Jeff. First came the HoH room, when Jeff got emotional about his family. Kevin made it clear how attractive he finds Jeff to be, despite the fact that Jeff is probably going to put him up this week.

As if it’s worked any other week, Kevin and Natalie try to get on Jeff’s good side, and Jeff seems to be working the whole house to his advantage. He starts parading around shirtless and even toying around with Jordan—what happened to the Jeff we all know and love? It seems as if Jeff is getting cocky this week and I really don’t like it. Why does HoH have to change everyone?

Kevin doesn’t think his kissing up is good enough, so he opts to try and lie to Jeff instead, saying that Russell has been planning to renege on his final four deal and betray Jeff. Jeff confronts Russell about it and Russell denies it, but does acknowledge that Jeff has all the power this week and can pretty much do what he wants. Since when did Russell become so subdued? I miss his controversial spark.

The trip that Jeff won to Hawaii gets brought up and Jordan makes the clever observation that Jeff, a single, 31 year-old, is probably not going to have someone to take along with, so she offers to go with him. Her only condition, though, is that making out and cuddling would be the stopping point, which Jeff doesn’t like to hear. Then Jordan acts as if this is the first time she’s realized that men “think with their penises,” which kind of surprises me.

Then the episode turns slightly erotic when Jeff starts walking around in the backyard and gardening shirtless in front of Kevin. Honestly, the guy looks like his eyes are going to fall out of his head. His diary room sessions aren’t any better since he makes every sexual innuendo in the book (i.e. “big hose,” “mow the lawn”).

I’m still left wondering where the strategizing has went in this game, though. But instead of seeing any more feeble attempts by Kevin and Natalie, we instead get Jeff trying to comprehend what a neuroscientist does. Now that’s the Jeff I think we all love to see! All seems well in the house through the nomination ceremony when all goes as planned and Jeff nominates Kevin and Natalie. Judging by how the house has been going, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the two left (moreso Natalie), but it sounds like Jeff might be open to getting Russell out. Now that everyone can play in the veto, will Jeff try to get out the Love Muscle?

Be sure to tune into Big Brother 11 on CBS on Tuesday at 9/8c to see who wins the Power of Veto and if they use it on Kevin or Natalie!
