The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 2

by Chandra Clewley

This week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta starts with Lisa planning a trip to her native Los Angeles for a visit. In lieu of taking her husband, Ed, she is going to take NeNe. It will be the first time she has been there since her brother Mijo was buried. He died at 51 and Lisa knows that going to the cemetery is going to be very difficult for her.

Kim is having nanny drama! Oh, to have nanny drama! The nanny tells Kim’s daughter Brielle that she is going to hell for rapping a prayer. Later in the show, the nanny leaves to buy tampons and leaves the girls alone. Kim is irate that the nanny is being so defiant and leaving the girls alone, so she fires her. Over voicemail.

NeNe is writing a book! She is doing a memoir of her life, and she is thinking of writing about her search for her biological father and getting a DNA test. NeNe has not spoken with Curtis, the man she thought was her father, since the results came in that he was not her father.

Meanwhile, Kandi is having a photo shoot for her comeback album and takes the opportunity to take a photo of her family for her engagement photo. She is nervous about her mother and A.J. being together since her mother is so disapproving of her engagement to him. Sure enough, her mom shows up and agrees to take photos, but the moment that A.J. sits down for photos, her mom gets up and walks away. Whatever! She doesn’t have to marry him! Poor A.J. is in for a nightmare Mother-In-Law. I get her mom’s point, but at some point she needs to back up! It’s Kandi’s life, not hers. And Kandi says she needs them to get along in order to marry A.J. He thinks that Kandi gives her mom too much control, and after watching this episode, I agree!

NeNe and Lisa decide to sign up Sheree and Dwight for Hurry Date. They are both good sports and decide to go for it. Dwight is nervous and orders a Ginger Ale (straight up) to steady his nerves.  Sheree meets a bunch of losers, but Dwight meets a couple guys he kind of seems to like! Yay Dwight!

Lastly, NeNe is invited to throw a small party for the King Tut Exhibit. She invites all the girls and their children, thinking the children will act as a buffer for the feuding women.

Kim arrives first and has to have a few drinks to calm her. Sheree arrives second, and stays in her corner, drinking. Lisa shows up a bit late, and stays with Sheree, while Kandi arrives and meets Kim for the first time. Kim and Kandi hit it off, as they have their music and some people in common. While they are getting to know each other, Lisa and Sheree are acting like snotty teenagers, making fun of Kandi and Kim, and talking about how they should be singers too. Kandi sings a little for them, and NeNe who has been uncharacteristically bitchy, says she is not impressed. Is NeNe jealous?? Of what? Kandi and Kim getting to know each other? NeNe see’s that Kim and Kandi are hitting it off, and says she is not surprised, as Kim will cling to whatever is in the moment.

Poor Kim hangs out with the kids during the King Tut tour, most likely to stay away from snarky, gossipy, Lisa and Sheree! Either they should be ashamed, or Bravo is really stirring up the drama on this episode!

After the part, Dwight and NeNe go to fabric shopping for NeNe’s new place and the King Tut exhibit comes up. NeNe tells Dwight she thinks that Kandi is ghetto.

Uh oh…here we go again!

Oh! And on a side note, what kind of dog does Kim have??? It is sooo cute!  I am guessing it is a black Pomeranian with a puppy cut….
