America's Best Dance Crew Season 4

by Danae Young

This week on America’s Best Dance Crew, it is the Beyoncé challenge. But first, Mario announces the first two crews guaranteed to move on to next week’s episode. The two lucky crews are: We Are Heroes and Rhythm City.

We Are Heroes was up first to perform Beyoncé’s song-Single Ladies. The group has to incorporate heels in their outfit as their challenge. Shane thought they killed it from beginning to end. Lil Mama said they took an idea and took it to the next level. JC loved that they covered a lot of different styles of dance.

Rhythm City performed next to Beyoncé’s new hit single-Sweet Dreams. They had to include the Charleston at some point in their dance. Shane said it was a very creative piece. Lil Mama thought it was okay but could’ve been better. JC reminded them that they need to always have respect for their history and learn from it.

Mario then revealed two more crews saved by America’s votes into next week-Massive Monkees and Beat Ya Feet Kings.

Massive Monkees were given the song Work it Out by Beyoncé. Their challenge is the hula hoop. Shane liked how they used a person as a hula hoop. Lil Mama was very entertained. JC thought some of the dance moves were a little elementary but said it was still a great performance.

Beat Ya Feet Kings were up next with the song Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. They needed to get creative with the “uh-oh” dance. Shane said it wasn’t his favorite and suggested that they think outside of the box more. Lil Mama liked that their personality was on point from beginning to end. JC told them they need to get lose without getting sloppy.

Mario announced the final two crews moving on to next week-Southern Movement and Vogue Evolution.

Southern Movement performed Jumpin Jumpin by Destiny’s Child. They needed to bounce, shake, twist, and dip while keeping their southern touch. Shane said the beginning was so sharp. Lil Mama thought it could’ve been better and said the challenge part of their dance was a little rushed. JC appreciated that they worked on their levels but they need to turn up the difficulty.

Vogue Evolution needed to include an African flavor to their dance performing to the song Déjà vu by Beyoncé. Shane said they ripped the stage. Lil Mama thought it was very refreshing. JC said it really woke him up.

Next it was battle time between Artistry in Motion and Afroborike. One of them will be going home tonight.

Artistry in Motion performed to Diva by Beyoncé while accomplishing the task of everyone holding a chain at the same time. Lil Mama exclaimed they had the toughest challenge and rocked it. JC liked the storyline.

Afroborike had to use their hips while performing to Beyoncé’s song-Beautiful Liar. Shane said they bring something so different, sexy, and unique to the show. JC loves their chemistry.

Unfortunately, after much deliberation from the judges, it was time for Artistry in Motion’s banner to fall.
