Last time on Big Brother 11, Chima
nominated Lydia and Russell, with the hopes of getting Russell out of the
house. But just when Russell thought he was out the door, Jeff used his Coup
d’Etat at the (semi-)live eviction, nominating Jessie and Natalie for the week.
Jessie was evicted by a 3-2 vote, girls cried, and Michele won HoH. What a
great week, right?
So first, a horrid flashback to Lydia,
Natalie and Chima bursting into tears after Jessie walks out the door. Were
they really that sad? I haven’t seen this type of nonsense since the
Eric/Maggie/Ivette crew of Big Brother 6…I mean come on now, this is nuts. I
think the worst part about it for them is that they know now that America
doesn’t like them or their alliance. Sad, but true.
Judging by the episode going nowhere
fast, it’s clear that the recent controversy in the game is not going to be
addressed in this episode. Instead, it’s going to be a total mourning for
Jessie and another quirk showcase of the various houseguests. For instance,
Lydia really likes unicorns and has a stuffed unicorn named Dae Yum Yum. Jeff
also proposed to Jordan and she semi-accepted. But she wants a square-cut
diamond ring first. Oh man, this is painful to get through.
And it gets that much harder when dinner
becomes a Jessie pity party. Natalie, Chima and Lydia open up his bottle of
Merlot and toast to “the man, the myth, the legend.” Really girls? I feel like
Kevin sums it up the best: “O. M. G…it’s redonkulous.” More like hypocritical
if you ask me. The first three weeks, Jeff and Jordan (along with the rest of
America) had to deal with their alliance getting voted out, but now life sucks
because things are changing. Again, since when did we warp back to Big Brother
6?
Chima starts getting on Jeff’s case for
not being loyal, which seems like a weak attempt to take him down with her.
According to Chima, Jeff isn’t loyal because he said he would vote out Russell,
but Jeff says he didn’t vote, so he didn’t break any promises. As much as I
love Jeff, that is stretching it a little too far, but he still makes a valid
point: Chima is just being loud, obnoxious and hypocritical. Then we find out
that Chima really wants Russell out this week. Did I mention she was
hypocritical?
Natalie and Chima try to talk things out
with Michele, but both seem to fail miserably. Not only is Michele really
unresponsive, but her diary room session about people’s opinions swaying her
and making her so confused sounded incredibly forced. Instead, it’s like you
can feel her building a ticking time bomb that’s ready to explode at the
nomination ceremony.
And explode it does. Even though no one
should be surprised that Michele nominated Chima and Natalie, everyone seems a
little shocked when Kevin pulls Lydia’s key out of the box last. All Chima can
do is sit there with her diva face, then go on a tirade about how much she
doesn’t care anymore. I really tried to give Chima the benefit of the doubt at
the beginning, but this episode made it really hard to even attempt to like
her.
