Big Brother 11: Week 4 Eviction Recap

Ronnie and Lydia from Big Brother 11

Last time on Big Brother 11, the house remained divided in two as the battle for Ronnie’s safety began. Ronnie tried to use his “brilliant” tactics on the rest of the house, but failed to garner any sympathy (much to the delight of America, I’m sure). In the end, Michele won the veto and chose not to use it, leaving Ronnie and Lydia up for eviction.

Tonight, Ronnie starts attacking Michele, calling her untrustworthy and a liar because she didn’t use the veto. Honestly, I don’t see how she’s either of those things when I think she made herself perfectly clear that she didn’t like him. Want someone who’s not trustworthy? Try Jessie, who’s willing to do or say anything to Russell at this point to save face, including protecting Chima.

Chima, unaware that Jessie is trying to save her ass, pulls Michele aside and confronts her about her relationship with Russell (Lydia and Natalie 2.0!!). Michele denies everything and Chima is pissed, because she’s not buying it.

Enter Ronnie with another brilliant plan: play the emotional card. He starts bothering Jordan and harping on her, telling her how much he doesn’t want to go hope, hoping he can garner a sympathy vote from her. He says he’s banking on her not knowing that Natalie, Jessie and Chima are all voting to keep him, thus she would effectively ensure him staying. Jordan isn’t as stupid as Ronnie gives her credit for, and she says she’s not buying it. Instead, Ronnie just farts in the presence of Jordan and Jeff.

Never mind the talk with Russell in the HoH room, now it’s time for what we’ve all been waiting for: the reveal of the winner of the coup d’etat, the most important power in the game so far. And the winner (thus being America’s favorite) is…Jeff! Oh, this week is getting better and better. It’s slowly but surely making up for the last couple. Jeff decides not to use the power, meaning he’ll probably be using it next eviction.

When they were given one last chance to speak, Ronnie proved yet again that, no matter what he says, he can’t do things with an ounce of class. He starts to tear up and goes off on Michele (which really does nothing but make him look bad), and Lydia ends with a more typical, “I’ll be sad if I go and I’ll be happy if I stay” genre of speech. The votes go as follows:

Kevin: RONNIE
Natalie: LYDIA
Chima: LYDIA
Jessie: LYDIA
Michele: RONNIE
Jeff: RONNIE
Jordan: RONNIE

So, by a vote of 4-3, America’s wish finally came true and Ronnie is evicted from the Big Brother house. He goes out in even less class than before, obviously trying to hold back tears. Michele attempts to make it clear that she never had any ill feelings towards him, but all her can do is act immature and interrupt her.

Granted, the goodbye messages were harsh (and Michele did say that she hated him, so Ronnie had a point there), but Ronnie acted like he was some slighted mastermind who still had the game all planned out. He couldn’t talk about it enough with Julie because it felt like he wanted to get everything out there. Guess what, Ronnie? It doesn’t matter, because you’re out!

Everyone heads out to the backyard for the HoH, which won’t make too much of an impact because Jeff must use his coup d’etat next week. The challenge is based on how well the houseguests remember the phone messages that were played to them throughout this previous week—last one standing in the competition wins Head of Household.

Michele and Lydia are out first, followed by Jessie. Jeff and Jordan are out next (meaning the coup d’etat will probably be used to shock everyone), then Kevin and Natalie get eliminated, making Chima the new HoH. I’m just looking forward to the look on her face when Jeff uses the coup next week and she realizes she wasted a week. Especially after she can’t stop bragging after the HoH? Priceless.

Tune in to Big Brother 11 on Sunday on CBS at 8/7c to see who Chima nominates for eviction!
