Moosham Castle - Unternberg, Austria
If there is not paranormal activity in a 500 year old castles’ torture chamber then I don’t believe there is any need to keep investigating any future sites.  Hundreds of people were tortured and died in what is called “The Witches Castle.”   Many were hanged, sawed in half, or dragged in different directions by two horses.  People who work in the castle, now a museum, have experienced being touched, seeing various former members of the castle, items being rearranged, and strange ghostly noises.

Barry Fitzgerald and Dustin Pari tried to summon an Arch Bishop who was responsible for the witch trials in what’s called the “Hunting Room.”  It wasn’t long before they began feeling the room becoming charged with energy and as they were walking towards a door, the door sprung open and Barry jumped back in shock.  Robb Demarest and Brandy Green tried to contact a former castle resident called “Toni,” who has been recognized by the caretakers looming in his old room.  Robb began hearing footsteps and this came after a audible bang.  Barry and Dustin were themselves experiencing the sound of footsteps and all of them began making sure that no one else was around, and there wasn’t.  Joe Chin and Ashley Godwin got the chore of investigating the room that the “witches” were sent to after they were tortured.  Ashley’s delivery of her questions shows again that she was the right add to the team, very direct and serious.  As they were asking questions, Ashley heard what seemed to be a deep breath and Joe believed he was touched, possibly by the woman that has been seen in the room.  Ashley believed that she was touched as well as they continued to ask the spirits to contact them.  Robb and Ashley took on the torture chamber and heard a distinctive male voice, possibly coming from the “Waiting Room,” where those to be tortured were taken and waited for their horrible future.

Personal experiences were rampant during the investigation so the team was hopeful they were able to get some of this on their cameras or voice recorders.  One EVP was that of a woman saying “It’s me.”  Another recording from the torture was of a voice saying “Horst” a German name for a man.  A camera caught a definite human like figure sitting in a chair in a room where the caretaker has always felt something was strange.  This was one of those places that could certainly be used for a follow-up investigation.  The team had no problem calling the castle haunted.

Schloss Porcia - Spittal An Der Drau, Austria

A castle, built by a Spanish Count, now seems to be home to his former Countess named Caterina.  Objects have been seen moving, footsteps are heard all around the castle, chains being dragged on the floor are audible, security system going off with no signs of interference, and doors slamming by themselves, are the most common experiences of the current caretakers.  The most distressing story comes from the Countess asking a servant to hide her most precious jewels, only to beat him to death afterwards with a wooden shoe so that the secret would die with her.  These jewels have never been found.  Could the servant be the one causing the paranormal activity?  Photos have been taken by local paranormal investigators showing children sitting in chairs in a theatre room and the Countess standing in a window.  The team had plenty of investigating to do.

Robb and Dustin began their investigation in the Counts’ room were most of the paranormal activity has been recorded.  They felt that they had heard some responses to their questions so the evidence would have to be carefully examined.   Barry felt that something came up next to him while he and Ashley were investigating in the dining room.  Audible sounds were also heard, including footsteps, and they confirmed that it was not from other members of the team walking around.  While Robb and Joe were sitting in the dining room, the table was bumped and scratching sounds were audible.  Barry and Ashley heard the same while investigating.  As Robb and Joe continued to ask for contact a very loud bang occurred in the room, shaking up both of them pretty good.

A review of the voice recordings did verify the scratching noises that were heard by most of the team.  Evidence is always a key factor for the team when discussing the investigation, so they were happy to get this on tap.  As the team was reviewing some pictures they took of the chairs in the theatre room, they noticed a figure sitting in one of the chairs.   This may have been the same figure in other photographs shown to the team by the local investigators.  They believed that it was a shadow effect occurring and our eyes just playing tricks with us….you decide.  They were able to show the table being bumped and did catch the loud bang causing Robb to get into a fighting position as if he was being attacked.  The team wouldn’t come right out and say the castle was haunted but they were not calling it not haunted.

Probably the best show of the year.  If you missed it you can usually get the show downloaded from their website the following day.
