Tiniecia Goldsmith from Paris Hilton’s My New BFF Season 2

We recently caught up with Tiniecia Goldsmith of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF Season 2. Tiniecia chatted about Paris Hilton, the stipper pole challenge and gives some great casting tips. She is a great example of patience and persistance when it comes to applying to Reality TV shows.

Mark, RealityWanted.com: Tiniecia, so cool to finally catch up to you. We had a few hundred RealityWanted members apply to Paris Hilton’s My BFF 2, so it’s so cool to see you landed a gig on it. Where are you right now?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I am in Houston TX.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: For some reason I thought you were in Los Angeles.

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2: I am going to move there in August, I had planned on moving before I got the spot on MTV.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Let’s talk about how you got on the show.  Did you watch season one and say, “I can do that.”

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I actually applied to season one from RealityWanted.com and a casting director asked me to come to an open call but I missed it so I sent in a tape.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What happened next?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I never heard back.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Did you like season one?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I did like season one, but you could tell who was really there for Paris and who was there because they wanted to push their acting or singing career.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Why did you want to apply to be Paris’s BFF?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I remember waiting tables at Hooters, seeing Paris on TV, and thinking about how gorgeous she was.  I decided to do some research on her and the Hilton family.  I figured everything I see in the news couldn’t be 100% true. I don’t care about money and fame, I just wanted to meet Paris and get to know her.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com:So season two started casting and what did you do?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I applied on your site once again and was asked to go to Dallas for an audition. I prayed before I went in the casting call and just went in as myself. When I act like myself I seem to get picked.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Then what?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2: I didn’t hear back for awhile, so I just assumed I didn’t get it. Then my phone rang from a number I didn’t recognize. I wasn’t going to pick up the phone at first, but when I did, I was told I was a semifinalist.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Were you excited or what?

Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I actually thought it was a joke at first, since so many of my friends knew I tried out. When I got home and saw the email and paperwork I realized it was no joke.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: So do you have any tips for applicants trying to get on TV?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:   I do want to try and help some people who are also on RealityWanted.com. People are emailing me asking how I got picked.  People who apply need to realize you need to have a nice clear recent picture of yourself, not you and 5 of your friends. I see some members who have a photo with all of like 3 of their friends and now you’re making the casting director try and find out which one is you. Your profile and photo should be your resume, so make sure it’s clear, up to date, and interesting.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Very cool tips, I hope everyone takes the time to read over this.

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2: People should also be patient and realize if you’re not picked it just wasn’t your time. I tried out for this show once, waited, and then tried out a year later.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com:Let’s talk about the first episode, what did you think about Paris going undercover?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  It was unique and we didn’t expect it.  After that we realized we would never know what might pop up.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What about the pole dancing gig?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  When we all walked out there we thought it was going to be a wet t-shirt contest. Then I saw the stripper pole and thought about how my mom was going to kill me. Before I left for the show my mom told me not to do anything to degrade or disrespect myself. When people started dancing we all thought it was funny, I made sure I didn’t look trashy.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com:You said that you like to call people out if they are fake, so who do you think was only there for the cameras?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  I won’t name names but you can tell who is being fake and just there to boost their careers, you will see this as the season goes on.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com:Have you looked online to see what people are saying about the show or saying about you?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2: When I was younger I cared about what people said. When you’re doing something, people want to talk about you. If you don’t do anything no one cares. I would rather have people talking.  I don’t even like people talking bad about Paris in front of me, they don’t really know her and it kind of offends me.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Great tips and words of wisdom, any final words before we hang up?

A. Tiniecia Goldsmith, Paris Hiltons My New BFF 2:  This season is going to be a blast!
