Greg Bilbro of The Bachelorette

When a group of eligible singles men show up for The Bachelorette, you can pretty much guarantee that there will be a few… well, interesting people in the mix. Enter Greg Bilbro, a 31 year old entrepreneur from Scottsdale, AZ.  After referring to himself as a “perfect 10”, he entered into a break dance off with a dance instructor and (not surprisingly) lost.  When he was dismissed by Jillian, he hugged it out with her and went on his merry way.  Today, he spoke to reporters in a conference call and opened up about finding love, his first impression of Jillian, and his dancing skills.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you want to audition for The Bachelorette and try to find love on reality television?
A. Greg: What made me do the show originally was… a friend of mine had suggested, after I told her that I was bored of life, to do this.  I think two weeks previous to my audition, I competed to try to get on American Gladiators as one of the contestants.  I was going through a phase thinking I wanted to do something new and exciting.  At the time, I was 30 years old, had broken up with an ex girlfriend, and thought it made sense.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: With so many guys competing for Jillian’s attention, how difficult is it to get noticed?
A. Greg: It’s a challenge, there’s no doubt about it.  Anyone who tells you otherwise is being a bit boastful about their abilities.  I don’t care how you slice it.  Everyone in the room was an ultra confident, pretty successful person.  We all had our tricks to make sure we got some attention from Jillian.

Read on to see what else Greg had to say about his experiences on The Bachelorette…

Q. Tell us about your first meeting with Jillian.  What was that like?
A. Greg: She’s absolutely gorgeous and she’s a lot smaller than maybe what I anticipated.  She’s a short, petite person.  That was a bit of a surprise.  She has an amazing ability to smile and be witty and talk back to people, which was incredibly impressive.

Q. Did you have a strategy and was the break dancing part of that?
A. Greg: Anybody and everybody would suggest making sure you’re noticed.  That’s part of any sound strategy.  The breakdancing, since I had been doing it for years in high school and college, was something I knew would help get noticed.

Q. Have you ever been able to impress ladies with your dance moves before?
A. Greg: I don’t think I’ve ever been in a dance off for a woman but when I was a young kid, probably 12 or 13, I did this competitively.  We had crews and we would practice, much like a baseball or basketball team.  Naturally, when you go out into certain competitions, circles form, women are there and watching.  Be default, it becomes a spectacle that girls see.  As far as competing over a girl, I don’t think I’ve ever done that.

Q. You called yourself a perfect 10 on the show.  What sort of response did you get when you arrived home?
A. Greg: When I got home and people had seen the show, there’s two lines that people are remembering in restaurants and in my gym.  I have people coming up to me saying, “Hey it’s the perfect Billbro” or “Let’s hug it out.”  Those lines have stuck with America and I’ve heard it a thousand times.  It’s pretty darn funny!
