Amanda Crop of Make Me A Supermodel 2

Last night, on Make Me A Supermodel, the contestants participated in a nude photo shoot.  At panel, the judges were disappointed that Amanda continued to try to look too sexy in her pictures.  When she landed in the bottom with Brendan, the judges felt that they couldn’t keep her in the competition and sent her home.  Today, she spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview, opening up about modeling after having a baby and what her true passion is these days.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Tell us a little bit about your modeling experience, prior to trying out for the show.
A. Amanda: I actually started modeling when I was 17.  I got signed with Mode and they sent me to Asia.  I was mostly in Singapore but I also went to Malaysia and Taiwan.  I was there for 6 months and I was glad to get back home.  I got in my relationship, had a kid, and that was that.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you want to come back to modeling, and try out for Make Me A Supermodel?
A. Amanda: I’ve done a lot and I’ve experienced a lot.  When I was modeling, being in the spotlight made me the happiest.  I went to an audition in Portland and I was in this, “I guess it’s over and I can’t model anymore,” mindset but I got called for a second audition and I made it on the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you feel self conscious at all about your body after having a baby?
A. Amanda: Absolutely!  I know I had a better body before my son.  Agents and clients will nit pick every little thing.  My body is nothing like it was but after doing the show, I’ve never been more confident about my body.  I love myself for who I am.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you feel when you found out that, this week, you’d be doing a nude photo shoot with only a scarf to cover you?
A. Amanda: Well, the week prior, the judges called me too sexy.  When I found out about the photo shoot, I thought, “Great, we’re gonna do a naked shoot and they just said I was too sexy!”  Of course, there’s going to be insecurities but the photo couldn’t have been in more of a perfect spot in the competition.  I was much more confident doing that shoot in the middle of the competition than if it happened in the first couple weeks.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you agree with the panel’s decision to send you home?
A. Amanda: A lot of the things they said shocked me.  Your opinion is nothing like the judges’ opinions.  Obviously, being naked, they’re gonna call me sexy.  I wasn’t trying to be sexy but that’s what came across.  I don’t know how I could’ve changed it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you read what bloggers say about you or the show?
A. Amanda: I am so busy that I can barely find time to watch the show.  I put my son to bed at 8 and the show comes on at 10.  I really don’t have time.  I deleted my personal MySpace and I just have a fan one, which I hardly go on as it is.  I’m glad that I don’t have the time because who knows what people are going to say.  I didn’t do the show for anybody else.  I did it for me.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Where do you plan on going from here with your modeling career?
A. Amanda: I’m proud of myself.  When I first started, I saw modeling as a stepping stone to acting.  Acting is a passion of mine.  I did school plays growing up and I did commercials when I was in Asia.  Right now, I’m doing an independent film so I’ve been going back and forth to L.A.  Modeling is something that I’ll probably never give up on but I’m really pursuing acting at the moment.
