Georgia Aquarium – Atlanta, GA
The artifacts of the “unsinkable” RMS Titanic now “rest” in the Georgia Aquarium, after
touring many other cities. Everywhere these items have been, paranormal activity has seemed
to run rampant. One has to ask whether or not these items should have ever been removed from
their watery grave but this action can not be reversed and now the souls of the departed may
never rest. Voices, apparitions, shadows, cold spots, footsteps, and people being touched
are just a few of the reports of paranormal activity occurring around the exhibit. Pirates
have yet to be encountered by any of the aquarium caretakers.
It wasn’t long into the investigation where Jason and Grant, Co-Founders of TAPS, began
experiencing multiple cold spots. At one cold spot area Jason had his sweat jacket tugged
and it became obvious to them that their trip down south was worth the drive. Grant, while
trying to get up from popping a squat on the ground, felt hand on his shoulder pushing him
down and it was caught on tape. The analysis of an EVP session Jason and Grant did revealed
one of the creepier ghostly responses to date. When asked for one last response before they
moved on from their spot a voice was recorded saying “No, please wait.” TAPS felt there was
definitely some entity attached to the artifacts, as well as, some residual haunting.
Gaither Plantation - Atlanta, GA
Built in1815, the estate now serves as a spot for gatherings, weddings, as well as, a bit of
a museum. The former owner Cecilia Gaither, seems to be the one the caretakers believe still
roams the halls, trying to contact her more recent family. Add into the equation a
murder/suicide and you had to think this could be an interesting night of investigating.
There couldn’t be a more perfect example of what a Plantation mansion is suppose to look like
then the Gaither house, it’s furnishings look as if they haven’t been replaced since the turn
of the century.
While up in the attic, Jason experienced multiple moments of hearing footsteps, which were
audible to the home viewer. The EMF detector was lit up like a Christmas tree while they
were trying to communicate and after Jason had spread some flower on the attic floor to see
if they could track some footprints, 3 appeared in his “trap.” This is the first time I’ve
seen TAPS use this trick and have it work. The review of the evidence showed a cabinet door
open by itself, not just open, but swing completely open with force. Workers have claimed to
see the same thing so TAPS was able to back those experiences up on film. Another time when
the investigators asked for a response if someone was present they were acknowledged by three
knocks….good enough for me. TAPS called the place haunted and let their local team know to
make another trip back because something was definitely going on.
Next week, tune in for a special guest appearance by the Ghost Hunters International team as
TAPS investigates a mammoth mental institution in New Jersey.
