Tonight's elimination show was a bit disappointing for me all the way around. The encore dance was Lil' Kim and Derek's Viennese Waltz when it should have been Gilles' and Cheryl's Pasa Doble.
Then the singing entertainment was mediocre at best. Legendary Etta James who, in my opinion, can't hold a candle to Beyonce, sang "At Last". The real entertainment during that performance was Maks and Karina's dancing. Wow! Then Demi Lovato sang one of her hit songs. My 13-year old loves Demi.....need I say more? But at least we were graced with the presence of So You Think You Can Dance winner (and Lacey's brother) Benji Schwimmer and his dance partner Tori Smith. I really wish Dancing With The Stars would ask Benji to join the cast like they did with his sister. Similar to Derek and Julianne, Benji and Lacey are siblings that can't be beat when it comes to dancing and choreography! There was an additional dance number done by a group from Las Vegas, but honestly the guys in red skirts and all the acrobatics did nothing for me.
The biggest disappointment came for me when they announced that David and Kym were no longer in the competition. They weren't even one of the couples in the bottom three for the night! Granted David didn't have what it takes to win the competition over someone like Melissa or Gilles, but he deserved to stay longer than Lawrence and definitely longer than Steve-O. Steve only had a total score of 18 this week whereas David had a 22 (which to me was too low to begin with). So I'm sad to see him go so early in the competition and I'll miss the humor he brought to the show every week.
