Ghost Hunters Season 5 - “Club Dead” – Recap

Ghost Hunters

El Circulo Cubano (The Cuban Club) Ybor City, FL

This early 1900’s gathering spot was the Dave and Busters of its’ time containing a theatre, bowling alley, swimming pool, and of course many bars.  It seems as if it’s former clients are still drawn to it this day, causing the local hyphenated caretaker and staff to experience ghostly presences of men, woman, and children along with knocking noises and people walking on the marbled stairs.  One actor in his 20’s hung himself in the theatre, assumedly because he landed the tree in the summers play.  A lady dressed in a white gown with red shoes, probably old school Steve Madden’s, has been seen many times wondering the halls, probably still looking for her future rich husband.

During the investigation the team encountered random noises, voices, and co-team leader Jason Hawes having to take a break after he was overcome by some strong sickness.  Amy Bruni and Kris Williams, both dressed in their lighter Florida attire, did their best to try and provoke any spirits wondering the now empty and dark theatre and at one point it seemed someone or thing was listening.  Grant used one of his favorite tools, the flashlight, to try and make contact with a ghost boy in the Cantina….I guess Cuban kids where allowed to drink at a young age.  Grant was able to get some thing or someone to turn the flashlight on and off when asked to do so.  I wouldn’t have believed it had they not caught it on tape.  The team certainly felt that there were residual hauntings, as well as, someone desperately trying to make contact with the living world.  Jason and Grant mentioned they would like to investigate the club again in the future, and that is usually a sure sign that they deemed it an active location.

Trelles Clinic – Ybor City, FL

Another case of a building being renovated causing paranormal activity.  When that particular building happens to be a former hospital or clinic, ghostly activity is not uncommon.  The caretaker and various contractors have reported seeing apparitions, hearing windows slam and eerie screaming, and even having experiences of being touched.  The TAPS team tried to get a hold of some of the contractors but, as usual, they didn’t return their calls.

The team actually did a lot of debunking on site and it did not seem that they had a very interesting night.  Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves though actually had a different experience while going through the evidence.  An EVP of someone calling himself Juan, appeared on the audio.  Turns out the last person to die at the clinic was a boy named Juan who died on the operating table.  One camera turned about 200 degrees on it’s own in a empty hallway.  Could TAPS call the place haunted, well not really, but there was some activity and they mentioned a future investigation was possible.

On a sad note, Ghost Hunters is being cancelled due to economic conditions.   I guess even ghosts are getting laid off.  April Fools, of course.
