DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 8 EPISODE 5 RESULTS SHOW RECAP

Tonight's results show wasn't filled with too much excitement or too much surprise.

For entertainment we had Hall & Oates, which would have been totally flat if not for the brilliant dancing of Karina, Maks, Tony, and Dmitri.    More enjoyable was Adelle, a newcomer to the music industry who has a very unique voice and style which is why I like her as much as I do.

The bottom two couples were Denise & Maks and Holly & Dimitri which is not a big surprise, except I'm sure the judges expected Steve & Karina to be in the bottom as well.   But much to their surprise (and obviously Steve's as well by the look on his face) we will get to watch the computer geek for at least another week.

At the beginning of the season I thought the dance-off was a good idea but now I'm not so sure.   If the couples prepared something DIFFERENT for the dance-off to save themselves, then I could understand the purpose of it.   But to dance the same routine they did the night before that got them in the bottom two in the first place seems redundant and a waste of time.  As a viewer, it's painful enough to watch the first time.....must I really be subjected to watch it again?   The judges awarded Holly & Dmitri an 18 which was only one point more than the night before, and they awarded Denise & Maks a 20 which was four points more than the night before.  But it didn't seem to make a difference in who left the competition now did it?

Out of the bottom two I was glad that Denise departed for two reasons.  One, I think Holly has more potential than Denise and two, I love Dmitri and want to see him stay in the competition a little bit longer.
