The entertainment for tonight’s results show was both good and bad.

I loved the dance performance by the pros. Lacy & Tony, Julianne & Derek, and Cheryl & Mark were dynamite as they always are. I have no clue who Big Bad Voodo Daddy is, but they reminded me of the Brian Setzer Orchestra whose music I thoroughly enjoy. Jewel sang Over The Rainbow and newcomer pros Dmitry Chaplin and Chelsie Hightower danced. The combo of the three had me in tears. It was an absolutely beautiful performance.

What I didn’t enjoy was the Macey’s Stars Of Dance. I guess it was a dance number from The Golden Age, which I’m not familiar with, and it was choreographed by Michael Rooney. I realized at the end of the piece when legendary Mickey Rooney was giving it a dancing ovation that there must be some relation between he and the choreographer, but honestly the performance didn’t do much for me. Then there was the "fluff" of the result show which usually annoys me more than entertains me. Tonight it was a Celebrity Survival bit done by last year’s competitor Cameron Matheson. I guess it was better than the usual Jimmy Kimmell bit we’re used to seeing, but it was what it was, which is nothing more than fluff or show-filler.

I didn’t find the bottom two a surprise, although I thought that Steve-O would be one of the couples possibly going home because of his injury. It looks like the fans saved him, but with a back injury that will probably flair up again, I don’t anticipate his stay to be a long one.

I get the point of the dance-off but if the couples are going to dance the same routine they did the prior night, I’m not sure there will ever be a situation where the numbers the judges give them will vary from the night before. So my question is….what’s the point? I think DWTS should handle it differently. Let America vote to determine the bottom two. Then let the judges DECIDE who’s going home….period. No dance off please. Why make us watch an already painful performance for a second time?

I believe Steve Wozniak’s dancing was equivalent to Belinda Carlisle’s and it made no never mind to me which one was voted off first. I thought Belinda’s fan base might save her for another week or two, but I was evidently wrong. It seems Steve has that teddy bear factor which gained him more votes. How can you not like him, he’s so positive and cheerful all the time. What a trooper. But it looked like he was just as surprised as I was when they announced that he will remain in the competition for at least another week.

Was it me or did Lawrence Taylor and Chuck Wicks look less than thrilled to be coming back for week number two?
