The Real World Brooklyn

It was a little tough to come up with burning questions for the cast of The Real World: Brooklyn this week, I’m not going to lie.  Nobody was smashing tables or hiding rats in beds or kissing transvestites in bars.  No, this week’s episode was much more mellow as The Real World focused on the career aspirations of several of the roomies.  Devyn pursued her goal of becoming a spokesperson while Chet landed a big audition at MTV.  Baya focused on her dancing and Katleynn gave back to the community.  Nevertheless, there are always burning questions to be asked and the cast of The Real World: Brooklyn always has answers for us here at RealityWanted!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Scott, why were you M.I.A. from this week’s episode?
A. Scott: Well, to be honest, I was a little disappointed myself. I was very supportive of Katelynn and the cause she was fighting for while on the show. In fact, I was with her at the center helping her set up for the launch of her web page before anyone else got there. But the focus of this episode was not me. It was Chet, Baya, and Katelynn. The world needed to see what they were doing while in Brooklyn. Chet did an amazing job with his hosting, Baya danced gracefully, and Katelynn was able to reach her goal and put out a helping hand in the transgendered community.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Ryan, did anything come of playing your music for Danger Radio or was that all in good fun?
A. Ryan: It was all in good fun. I had fun playing it and they enjoyed it. The scene was just missing a campfire in the middle of the room. We couldn't burn the table that JD broke because it had since been replaced by then.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Baya, what was it about Katelynn's event that moved you to tears?
A. Baya: Knowing Katelynn's story and the struggle for her to get where she is today made the event really important for everyone involved. She spent so much time working on that site and seeing trans people at the event that were so excited to have something available was really moving. The GIP site is a way for people the communicate with one another, to have a friend, to have a voice... and Katelynn helped make that possible. Go team Katelynn!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Katelynn, had Chet gone through with his idea for a prank, and taken things you needed for post-surgical treatment, what would have been your reaction?
A: Katelynn: My reaction? A well placed punch to the trachea. I'm dead serious.  What I'm still astonished by is that Chet couldn't understand why I was so upset. He's not beyond exploiting someone's fears and placing a rodent in their bed when they're sleep. He's not beyond childish pranks like putting a banana wrapped in a condom in the fish tank or setting up buckets of water above doors, but stealing someone's medically necessary equipment is suddenly "too far"?  I'm a subscriber to Freudian psychology so I believe in theory that the two main purposes for joking are either for aggression or exposure. In Chet's case it can be a bit of both at times.
