The Bachelor Recap - The Final Five Ladies Visit Seattle

This week the girls traveled to Seattle, Jason’s hometown, so they could get a taste of what their life might be like there with Jason.  I was happy to see that Jason took care in not introducing any of them to Tye just yet.  New romantic relationships are hard for little kids.  When I was dating casually my daughter, who was about Tye’s age at the time, would get more attached to the men I was dating than I would.  She would take it hard when the man I was seeing departed from my life.  So I learned that unless you’ve been with someone for at least six months to a year, it’s best to leave your kids out of the equation.

Despite the editing of the previews last week, Melissa was not stood up by Jason.  In order to make Tye happy and stay in for the night, Jason changed their plans from a big and splashy night out on the town to just chillin’ at home by the fire.  Melissa was right on board and cool with it, as any woman should be if they’re going to make a life with Jason.

Naomi was the only other girl to have a one-on-one date with Jason.  She appeared to be in heaven, but it wasn’t enough to convince me that she is right for him.  I think there is something that is not genuine or authentic about this girl.  She can fool Jason (and she did because he kept her around another for another week) but she can’t fool me.

The group date was with the remaining three girls – Stephanie, Molly, and Jillian.  They took a ferry to see the sights of Seattle and Jason spent a little one-on-one time with each of them.  Then Jason had a radio show interview and the girls were put into a sound-proof room so they couldn’t hear what was being said.  That was a bit unfair since Naomi and Melissa, who were still at home, were able to listen to what he had to say. The radio hosts had Jason in the hot seat and asked him what was the best date he had so far, and he responded that the most memorable for him was the one with Stephanie and her little girl Sophia.  He named Molly the best kisser and Naomi and Melissa were left wondering if he chose Molly out of the five of them, or just the three at the station with him.  It was out of the five ladies, out of the five!

It was an emotional rose ceremony for Jason as well as the girls.  I was glad Jason finally let Stephanie go.  I knew he was keeping her because he admires her so much as a woman, but it was obvious throughout the season that he just wasn’t falling in love with her.  So the kindest thing was to let her go so she can find that with someone else, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will.  Out of all of the women, she truly was the best catch.   But when it comes to love we can’t force our hearts to feel what it doesn’t feel so the kindest thing we can do sometimes is let the other person go so they can find what they truly deserve, and Stephanie deserves nothing but the best.

Out of the final four – Jillian, Melissa, Naomi, and Molly, I am still rooting for Melissa.  I like Jillian and Molly as well, but Naomi has to go.  Of course we all know Deanna comes into the mix soon and I would not be surprised if Jason chooses her over all the other girls.  I hope he doesn’t make that mistake.  Whether he loves her or not, he needs to love himself enough to move forward because if she broke his heart once, she has the capacity to do it again!
