On this week's episode of The Real World, Sarah is unable to escape her past when her father gets a hold of her phone number in New York and begins calling.  The two have been estranged and Sarah reveals to her housemates that her father was abusive to her when she was a child.  It's unclear how Sarah's father was able to get a hold of her phone number but just the sound of his voice sends her into a very emotional state.  After telling him not to call her anymore, Sarah calls her mother and lets her know that he's been trying to contact her.  Her mother provides support, reminding Sarah that she is not a victim and she in control of the situation.  Sarah decides that she needs to get her story out there more to help others who have been in a similar situation.
 
There's romance in the air on The Real World... sort of.  Chet has a crush on Scott's model friend, Alex, and the two decide to head out on a date.  She shows up incredibly late and he started to think that she blew him off (so did we).  They ended up having a great time and were very affectionate but of course, that's as far as it went.  Chet has strong moral beliefs and isn't about to enter into a sexual relationship just yet.
 
Does anyone else continue to be confused by the actions of JD, especially when he's drunk?  He definitely seems to have two very different sides to him.  When the housemates headed out for a night at the bar, JD had a bit too much to drink and began insulting Katelynn and Devyn.  JD, who was hanging out with a transsexual, said that she was way better looking than Katelynn as well as a way better singer than Devyn.  As if that wasn't bad enough, JD ended up outing Katelynn to Chet, who hadn't told him yet that she is transgendered.  Devyn confronted JD the next day, who seemed semi-apologetic but was most definitely not completely remorseful for his actions.
 
Speaking of Devyn, she met up with her cousin, who is currently performing in "The Color Purple", and got an audition with a major casting agent in New York.  Unfortunately, Devyn's first impression wasn't her best as she was extremely late after accidentally taking the Holland Tunnel to Jersey.  Don't laugh.  You know some of you East Coasters have done it.  She was only given 10 minutes to sing a little for him, as well as perform a monologue.  He told her that he would call her if anything comes up while she is still in New York, but her dream is to eventually head to California and get into television and movies.
