Ghost Hunters International (GHI) “City of the Doomed” Recap

Grande Hotel – Cambuquira, Brazil
The hotel seems to be loaded with residual hauntings. A residual haunting is a psychic imprint of an incident that is repeatedly played out and witnessed by someone living. Ghosts in these time-displacements often seem unaware of observers.  The town itself is said to have had a curse placed on it by a priest who was thrown out of the city due to local political issues.

Barry was using the Full Spectrum Camera to try and catch an apparition that apparently appears in the dinning area.  Barry not only caught a shadow on the far wall but another camera in the hall seemed to have caught the ghost wandering into the dinning area, previous to the picture being taken.  I’m 50/50 on the video but the shadow was interesting, but not interesting enough to draw a conclusion that it was a ghost.

The big payoff came when Barry had a camera set up in the kitchen to catch what seems to be a woman and child walking down the hall.  Not only did he catch an apparition on the camera in one photo, but a second photo as well right after it.  I highly suggest checking out the reply when it’s posted on the GHI website.

The Little Castle - Sao Paulo, Brazil
Murder sprees gave this castle its reputation.  This castle was a little different then the European castles that have been investigated previously on GHI.  Valued pieces of the building had been removed and sold and the remaining walls were filled with graffiti.  I’m sure a more than a few local teens brought out the Ouija board and tried their luck at communicating with the slain former family.  Add to this that it was in a well populated area, not on some distant hill.  The noise contamination was rampant and you had to wonder if the team knew the investigation was doomed from the beginning.  The only piece of Evidence came from a EVP of a female screaming the name “Eduardo”.  The explanation, found from Dustins’ research, is that it may have been the only unidentified member of the murders.  This castle had no chance of being called haunted and the GHI team never even bothered to make the statement.

One team question to be answered is how the relationship between Brandy and Angela will develop.  Brandy is closer to the girl next door while Angela’s a little more like the vixen.  Something’s got to give.  Dustin is really missing a counterpart on the GHI team and this is causing a lull in the show.  Steve and Tango, of Ghost Hunters, play off each other very well and it adds to the camaraderie of the team.  Dustin needs a drinking buddy.
