We’re down to the final five couples and we are only two weeks away from the finale.  Tonight each couple had to dance two dances, and in addition, each star had to do a          15-second solo within one of their couple dances.  Here’s how they faired this week:

Cody & Edyta – Round 1 was the Foxtrot.  I thought they did much better this week and found their groove together.  My Score = 9 ~ Judges Score = 24.  Round 2 was the Mambo.  Unfortunately at the beginning of the dance they were not in sync, but Cody’s 15 second solo was great, especially the ending!  My Score = 9 ~ Judges Score = 24.
 
Brooke & Derek – Round 1 was the Tango.  I didn’t feel this was Brooke’s best on a technical level and thought it was only me who thought that until Len chimed in the same.  But Brooke is always a pleasure to watch.  My Score = 9 ~ Judges Score = 28.  Round 2 was great (sorry, I forgot to jot down the type of dance they did) except that it looked like Derek almost dropped her at one point.  I also didn’t realize the very first part of the dance was her solo and felt cheated at the end of the dance.  My Score = 9 ~ Judges Score = 27.

Maurice & Cheryl – Round 1 was the Foxtrot.  I thought it was absolute PERFECTION and felt the judges really cheated him on his score.  My Score = 10 ~ Judges Score = 24.   Round 2 was the Pasadoble.  It was a great dance and Maurice’s solo was phenomenal (and again I felt the judges cheated him).  My Score = 10 ~ Judges Score = 24.

Lance & Lacey – Round 1 was the Foxtrot.  I thought it was lovely and entertaining and loved all the quirky stuff in it.  My Score = 10 ~ Judges Score = 26.  Round 2 was the Samba.  I thought it was decent but it did lose my attention half way through.  But I will say that Lance rocked his solo for sure.  My Score = 8 ~ Judges Score = 24. 

Warren & Kym – Round 1 was the Pasadoble (I think).  It was excellent and phenomenal and my very favorite dance of the night!  My Score = 10 ½ ~ Judges Score = 28.  Round 2 was the Jive.  I hated the choreography and I thought Warren’s shoes were a poor choice.  How can you dance light on your feet with sneakers that stick to the floor?  I think he forfeited class for comfort and paid the price.  My Score = 8 ~ Judges Score = 26.

So once again at the top of the liter board is Brooke & Derek followed by Warren & Kym, and Lance & Lacey.  Last place is a tie between Cody & Edyta and Maurice & Cheryl.  I think it’s going to be a tough call as to who is going home this week, so I’m going to base it on the judges score this week (not mine because he got two perfect 10’s) along with previous dance performances and predict it to be  Maurice.  This will truly be a loss to the competition but with only a few weeks left, only the best in the competition depart from this point forward.
