Marisa and Brooke Of The Amazing Race 13

Interview with Southern Belles Marisa and Brooke Of The Amazing Race 13.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Have you guys been long time fans Of The Amazing Race?

A. Marisa, The Amazing Race 13: We loved Dustin and Candice from The Amazing Race season 10.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Tons of people apply to the Amazing Race and go to casting calls. What lead you guys to try out for The Amazing Race 13?

A. Brooke, The Amazing Race 13: We thought it would be the opportunity of a lifetime.  We wanted to travel the world together, but watching it at home is a lot easier than taking part in it.

A. Marisa, The Amazing Race 13:  The whole thing was a lot more difficult than we imagined. After we landed a spot on the show we went home and watched all shows to see what to do and not to do.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What were some of the things you found difficult?

A. Brooke, The Amazing Race 13: We got altitude sickness in Bolivia, got little sleep, and barely ate.

A. Marisa, The Amazing Race 13:  When we did get time to eat, we ate cliff bars or asked for extra peanuts and pretzels on the airplanes.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Last night one of the fraternity brothers said they bonded with you two the most, was that the case?

A. Marisa, The Amazing Race 13: We did get to meet Dan and Andrew when we first got to Los Angeles. We didn’t start and alliance per say but they did ask if we wanted to help one another out. We also really liked Tina and Kenny.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Speaking of Tina and Kenny, they keep landing the Team Number One spot. What do you think of those two?

A. Brooke, The Amazing Race 13: We think they are doing awesome and they really helped us out a lot.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Keeping on the same topic, I was told by Amazing Race casting director Lynn Spillman, The Amazing Race is more a show about relationships than travel. Tina and Kenny are separated and they seem to keep saying the show is helping their relationship, would you agree with Lynn?

A. Marisa, The Amazing Race 13:  I would definitely agree with Lynn, it is about the relationship with your partner and everyone on the show has a unique story. You can watch the long distance dating couple and how they do being close to one another and working together on challenges.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Getting back to your experience on the show, you guys did get the chance to travel to some cool locations, what was your favorite?

A. Brooke, The Amazing Race 13: Even though we were stressed and tired, New Zealand was one of our favorite stops.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Lets talk about what lead to you guys coming in last and did you know you were in last place?

A. Brooke, The Amazing Race 13: There were several reasons we were last. We were sitting in back of the plane and the last to get off, we got lost, it was hard to drive on the wrong side of the road, and we were told a cop would help us but waited for 45 minutes and he never showed up.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Really, I don’t remember the cop deal but maybe I spaced out for a minute thinking of Kiwi juice.

A. Marisa, The Amazing Race 13:  They did show us at a Shell station but you didn’t see us call for help. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes and he never showed up, we just seemed to have an issue with everything we did that day.

We didn’t know we were last since we didn’t get to see where the other teams were. I knew we were close to Ty and Aja which made it harder once we found out we were last.

Thanks for chatting with us guys and maybe we will see you in and Amazing Race All Stars Edition
