The Biggest Loser Families

By Carrie Falquist - www.carriefalquist.com

Tonight started off with a true Biggest Loser twist.  The winner of the temptation challenge, the person who eats the most calories from a room full of sugary, carb-filled snacks will get to choose teams.  It is time for Blue vs. Black, so say goodbye to the family duos.

In the dark, the biggest loser contestants had ten minutes to ingest the most number of calories.  Heba decided that she wanted to stay with Bob, so she volunteered to eat a donut so the teams could remain the same.   Not everyone agreed with it, so while the women were arguing, Phil went over to the pile of peanut butter cups and started chowing down.

After consuming two donuts, Heba gained the power to chose teams, and had a half hour to decide how the teams would be set up.   She kept most of the team intact, with the exceptions of the Purple and Red teams.  She brought Amy over to the Blue team, and sent Phil packing to Black.  It goes without saying that the rest of the contestants were pretty much shooting her the finger behind her back after that.

As a team, the Blue and Black teams faced their first team challenge.  They worked as a team from sun up to sun down, climbing a mountain.  If they worked as a team, and were together at the top and bottom of the mountain for a group photo, they would earn a bonus point.  The team with the most points would win a 2 point pass at this week's weigh in. Congratulations to the Black team.  They won the challenge with 162 points, and will enjoy that hard earned two pound pass.

During her stay at the ranch, Michelle has been coping with a lot of emotional issues, and wasn't sure that she would be able to stay.  At the weigh in, Allison asked her if she was staying or going, and Michelle decided that she “wasn't going anywhere” unless the scale sent her home.

Weigh ins this week were impressive.  Women were losing more than five pounds, which at the five week mark, is incredible.  In order for the Blue team to be safe, Heba, weighing in last, needed to lose more than 6 pounds.  Did she do it?  Could she lose that much after pulling an eight last week?

Yep.  She did it.  She lost eight pounds again, which certainly saved her neck from the chopping block after losing the popularity contest this week.

So, who did the Black team send home?  Did they pick someone who was the bigger threat?  Did they pick someone who had the least to lose?   After an hour of deliberation, the Black team picked Shellay  to go home.

Once home, Shellay took her new found confidence, sontinued her diet/exercise plan,  and is wearing a size 10, hoping to push for a 6 by the finale.  Let's give a shout out for the hot mamas!
