New Tribes Are Formed On Survivor 17: Gabon
By: Mary Cavaliere

It is only the third week and already Survivor has blind-sided everyone by mixing up the tribes!  We haven’t really learned everyone’s name or what tribe they are on yet so to mix it up so early is a bit confusing to the viewer (and I’m sure frustrating for the tribe members).

First each tribe member was asked to fill out a slate ranking their fellow tribe members from the most valuable to the least valuable.  Here was the result of that ranking:

KODA ~ Marcus, Ace, Bob, Charlie, Jackie, Corinne, Sugar, and Kelly
FANG ~ Matty, Dan, Randy, Crystal, Ken, G.C., and Suzie

Once that was accomplished the two most valuable members of each tribe (Marcus and Matty) began the process of choosing members for their new tribes much in the same way as was done on the first show.  Here are the new tribes:

KODA ~ Marcus, Dan, Charlie, Randy, Corinne, Suzie, Bob
FANG ~ Matty, Ace, Crystal, Jackie, Ken, G.C., and Kelly

Not chosen during the process was Sugar who was odd man (or woman) out and ended up having to go to Exile Island again, only this time it was for four days.  She was not able to return until one member was eliminated from one of the tribes during tribal council.  She would then replace that eliminated member.  The only good part (for Sugar) was that when she arrived there was a huge bowl of fresh fruit waiting for her and she was able to enjoy some good old fashion R&R.

The immunity challenge was a bit more difficult.  Each team member was on a small raft with a paddle.  Jeff tossed a ball out into the water and each tribe had to race to get to the ball first and pass it along to other team members who could then pass the ball into a goal, much like the way hockey is played.  The only problem was the way the rafts were structured some contestants were not able to maneuver them very well and ended up only being able to turn around in circles.  Some became so frustrated they just gave up.  The object of the challenge was to score three points to win immunity.  KODA was the winner with Randy being the team member that scored all three points.

Jackie did her best to try and convince her new tribe that she wanted to stay and that Kelly should be the one to go home since she did so poorly during the immunity challenge, but the other tribe members were concerned about the power she might have since she appeared to have an alliance with Ace.  Unfortunately, although they all felt sorry for her, they voted her out anyway leaving Kelly in the game.
