I didn’t bother to blog last night’s performance show because let’s face it.  All four of these dancers are brilliant and all four deserve to be where they are and all four deserve the title.  But obviously only one could win the competition.  Rather than commenting on their dance routines or solos for last night I’m going to focus more on their personal interviews and who they are as individuals.  But I can’t move on to that without saying one thing about the Russian dance with Joshua and Twitch – WOW!!!!!!!!!

COURTNEY was one of my favorites from the get-go.  Part of it is her beauty and part of it is her talent, but I also feel a kinship with Courtney because I’m 100% Italian.  It’s a cultural thing I guess.  Not that I adore every other Italian on the planet, believe me I don’t.  But I do adore this young lady.  She actually reminds me of a much younger “me” (only she’s 10,000 times prettier!)  Her passion with dance is the same as my passion was with theater.  I just hope that no one ever talks her out of pursuing her dreams like someone did with me.  I’m 51 years old and to this day I regret that decision.  No regrets Courtney, ok?   We want to see you on Broadway and after that number last night with Katee, we expect it will truly happen!

TWITCH reminds me of a much younger version of the man I’ve been seeing for the last two years.  He’s the kind of person that everyone loves to be around.  He always makes you smile, and there’s just something ultimately “cool” about him all the way around.   I love how he got his name Twitch because he wasn’t able to sit still as a youngster.  But I also loved what he had to say about “giving back to the art form”.  So not only is he charming and adorable, but he’s wise too?  That’s a lethal combination Twitch.  No wonder the girls in the audience want to marry him.  I think we’re going to see a lot of Twitch down the road.  His name and his persona is not one we will forget any time soon.

KATEE sweet Katee.  I forgot that she was the girl who said she wouldn’t come back next year if she didn’t make it through.  Well I guess she worked hard enough to make sure that didn’t wasn’t going to happen!  I hope she never gives up because in spite of the rejection she’ll endure as most dancers do, I believe she will work full-time as a dancer for years to come.

JOSHUA is an unbelievable package.  His smile just lights up the room.  He has those sexy bedroom eyes, a body to die for, dimples that make us melt, the best bootie on the planet, and his talent is limitless!!!  His family must be so very proud of him.  I’m not even related to him and I’m proud!  I know he made the choice to pursue singing and dancing instead of sports but I hope he does not limit himself there.  This guy has the charisma to do well in television and film as well.  If he’s never taking an acting class he should.  I’ve taught young people his age this art form and I believe I have a good eye for spotting a star in the making, and Joshua is just that.  I wish I lived close to him because I would offer to teach this kid for free!!!! That’s how much I believe in him and his phenomenal talent!

As I said all four deserved to win and Courtney has always been at the top of my list, but I have to say if I had voted for the winner, it would have been Joshua (and I wrote this part after last night’s show – not after the results tonight).  I am still blown away at the fact that he has no dance training.  He not only is as brilliant of a dancer as those who are trained, but he has worked extremely hard during this competition and has grown more than anyone else in the competition. 

So congratulations Joshua – it is a crown well-deserved!!!  It looks like you’re going to get to “act” real soon in your first film with Alan Shankman.  This is just the beginning…………
