There seemed to be mixed reviews from the other comics about Eliza making it through last week which automatically put a target on her back for this week as the comics competed for the title once again.  Here are the final 10 competing for the title of Last Comic Standing:

•    MARCUS
•    LOUIS RAMEY
•    ELIZA SHLESINGER
•    RON G.
•    ADAM HUNTER
•    PAPA CJ
•    PAUL FOOT
•    SEAN CULLEN
•    JIM TAVARE
•    JEFF DYE

I didn’t get what the whole first segment was about (the Comedy Carwash).  What was the point of all that other than for us to see who did the best spoof on the car-washing commercial done a couple years ago by Paris Hilton.

Last week it was raw eggs before the challenge and the comics ended up in a boxing ring.  This week was a barrel of carrots.  Nobody could figure it out except for the viewer who maybe had seen the previews and knew that Carrot Top was the celebrity judge this week.  This week’s challenge was called Mad Props where each comic had to shop in Bed Bath & Beyond for items to perform a prop comedy act after only having one hour to prepare.  Here’s how the comics faired (in my opinion):

Louis Ramey was the first one up and did a great job!  (4 stars)

Marcus was next and there was no doubt in my mind he’d do well because he has that same kind of quick wit that Carrot Top has!  (4 stars)

Ron G (who’s really starting to get under my skin with his constant bad attitude) didn’t do it for me mainly because I couldn’t understand one word he said.  Can you say “articulation” Ron? (1 star)

Papa CJ disappointed me.  He’s one of my favorite comics but he was really bad at this type of comedy.  (1 star)

Sean Cullen is just one sick individual but he cracks me up!  (3 stars)

Adam Hunter confused me. I didn’t get most of his jokes and wondered what the audience was laughing at. (1 star)

Jim Tavare was the same for me. I didn’t get his jokes at all. (1 star)

Eliza Shlesinger was no better than the two before her.  (1 star)

Paul Foot totally bombed poor guy.  (0 stars)

Jeff Dye rocked the house and nailed it! (5 stars)

I figured it would be Jeff, Louis, or Marcus to secure immunity for this week.  Evidently Carrot Top agreed and Jeff was safe for this week’s round!

It was back to the graveyard where we saw gravestones engraved with the names of comics who are now dead (to the show that is).  I would have loved to see God’s Pottery or Esther Ku compete in this week’s prop comedy.  Oh well.

The voting took place and these were the results:

Papa CJ – 3
Louis Ramey – 2
Jim Tavare – 1
Adam Hunter – 1
Paul Foot – 3

Since there was a tie between Papa CJ and Paul Foot they were asked to select the third person taking part in this week’s show down.  They chose Eliza Shlesinger as their opponent.

Eliza was up first.  I thought the audience must have had a lot to drink because they laughed at everything she said but I didn’t even crack a smile once.

Paul was so bad I got up in the middle of the performance for a potty break.

Although I didn’t like the fact that he used the same material, Papa CJ cracked me up with the new jokes I hadn’t heard before, but it left me wondering how far he could really go in the competition if he’s re-using material this early in the show.  Evidently he won’t have a chance to show us since he was one of the two departing tonight.

It was no big surprise that Paul Foot joined him leaving Eliza Shlesinger to deal with being out-numbered by the men once again next week.

Eliza thinks she has a target on her because she has a vagina.   I truly don’t think that’s it.  I’m a feminist and can certainly relate to many of her jokes and I truly want to support her being the only woman there.  But I just don’t think she’s that funny.  Combine that with her witch-like personality (I’m trying not to use the B word here) and she comes off as a not so likeable person.  Maybe the guys want her gone for that reason.

But hey what do I know?  I didn’t think last year’s winner Jon Reep was that funny either.  I was rooting for Lavelle Crawford all the way.
