When the opening number started I thought “Oh God, not another hip-hop routine.”   I watched the first part of the piece but there were too many bodies not fully in sync and that is uncomfortable to watch for me so I fast-forwarded through the second half of it.  What I didn’t fast forward through was Cat “Legs” Deeley’s entrance and she always knows how to make one!

Both guest performers were unknown to me.  But I’m not part of the dance world so the names Clifton Brown, Jamal Roberts, and Kirvin J. Boyd don’t mean anything to me (and I apologize if I spelled anyone’s name wrong).  These young men were pretty phenomenal to watch.  As for Katy Perry, my 12-year old daughter knew who she was but I didn’t nor was I familiar with her song “I Kissed A Girl”.  But I liked it nonetheless.

The bottom three couples this week were:

Comfort & Thayne

Jessica & Will

Kherington & Twitch

The six at risk danced for their lives and here is what I rated them on a scale from 1-10:

Thayne – I figured he might end up going home but I still love him to death – 9

Twitch – One of the most brilliant solos I’ve seen to date – 10

Will – I just don’t get what it is America has against him – 10

Comfort – I think you know by now how I feel about Comfort’s skill level – 3

Jessica – A little unsteady on her feet but I wanted her to remain in the competition – 7

Kherington – She’s still one of my all-time favorites this season - 9

Again, I would not have wanted to be a judge tonight trying to decide on which guy to send home. I was also glad that Nigel noted that none of them should be leaving, and implied that two girls should go home instead.  I figured he must have been speaking about Comfort and Jessica.

I felt real bad that Thayne had to leave but knowing he’ll get to work with Mia Michaels I’m sure was a consolation.  As for Comfort, well I’m not sure where she’ll land.

Next week it’s really going to get tough as the competition narrows down to the final 10 contestants.

Final 5 Girls:  COURTNEY, CHELSIE, KHERINGTON, JESSICA, and KATEE.

Final 5 Guys:  JOSHUA, TWITCH, MARK, WILL, and GEV.
