American Idol Season 7 ~ Episode 39 – May 14, 2008
By: Mary Cavaliere
The show opened with the final three singing Ain’t No Stopping Us Now. They did a darn good job with it.
Fantasia Barino, a previous Idol winner, was their guest performer. I loved Fantasia during her American Idol journey but honestly I do not enjoy her voice or the kind of music she has recorded since her season ended. It’s too much screaming for me. I have to say that Simon looked as un-excited about the performance as I was.
The Idols got to go back home this week. I wonder if those cheerleaders gave David Archuleta the time of day BEFORE Idol. It overwhelmed him so much he cried. But that’s our David!

Syesha responded the same exact way, with tears. Except Syesha has had a much rougher ride than the two Davids, so I am very happy for her that she’s living her dream and will continue to do so even after Idol is over because she just radiates light from within.
You would have thought David Cook was one of the Beatles coming home with girls crying and all. Just like David A. and Syesha, David was overwhelmed and emotional. I couldn’t have helped feeling a little bad for his brother who really wanted what David is now experiencing. But we can’t take it away from David because he is extremely talented and gifted.
It was no big surprise that David and David made it to the final two and it was so sweet to see David Cook looked more concerned about Syesha not making it than for his own happiness at making it through to the final week. But Syesha is beautiful, smart, and extremely talented so this little princess is going to be alright even without the crown!
