Dancing With The Stars Recap

Hey fellow reality addicts, my toes, heels and feet were itching today and you know what that means? No, I wasn't at the podiatrist, I was watching tonight's reality du jour, Dancing With The Stars!

Only 6 couples are left, and tonight each couple had to do 2 dances, 1 ballroom and 1 Latin. The pressure was on now to be perfect for 2 different styles. For the most part all 6 couples did very well with minor mistakes here and there.

Cristian with his partner Cheryl had a great ballroom dance but Cristian had a bad muscle pull while doing the Latin number. He was off to a great start shaking his money maker and twirling Cheryl around, but half way through was when you could see something had happened. He gamely stayed there to finish the dance.

The surprise of the night was that it's Monday night and the music that was used for Jason & Edyta's Latin Paso Doble was the theme from Monday Night Football. Wow! Who knew that the Paso Doble is what is secretly being done in the locker rooms all across the nation. OLE!
Jason & Edyta improved on their scores in past weeks with both of their dances. Edyta was spoken to again for her foot off the ground in a lift! Shame! Shame!

Kristi and Mark dipped in their scoring with judges, most notably with Judge Glen. There was too much hip hop in the Latin number for Glen but it was perfectly done for Carrie Ann, Bruno, the audience and me. Glen also picked apart their waltz in the beginning saying that there was too much theatrics. The audience and I disagree, it was an Officer and Gentleman being performed right there on the dance floor.

Mario & Karina did much better this week as well, but mostly in the Latin round. Mario is more suited for letting loose in the Latin round and needs to be more controlled and stiff while doing ballroom numbers. His foxtrot was intricate, just not controlled and he was PG rated this week almost G rated compared to last weeks hot and heavy Latin dance.

My other favorite lady in the competition is Shannon with her partner Derek. This week though, the judges were right, you could see a slightly off, gawky tall girl moving when she was by herself. Derek is the one that saves her with all the dancing they do as a couple and with his great choreography. She got her hips moving this week. It seems everyone was staring down there to see if they would perform or not. That actually sounds kind of naughty doesn't it? Her hips should be blushing.

Last but not least is Marissa with her man Tony. Marissa had great acting skills for both dances but what I don't understand is, the judges tore apart Shannon for lack of hip movements in her Rumba last week and I didn't see Marissa's hips doing anything this week in her Rumba. No mention of that at all from the judges. All in all, she did a good job tonight just not great in my opinion.

So, the dust has settled for tonight and the itch in my dancing feet is still there. I think it's gonna be a shocking choice to see who goes home tomorrow. I am channeling the late great Fred Astaire for his wisdom and he just whispered to me to stop dancing. He also says that he feels that possibly Marissa and Mario will be in the bottom 2. Could Mr. Astaire be right about the bottom 2? Fred can drop dead with his opinions about me though, I gotta be free and dance!   Anyone out there care to join me?

Ciao for now fellow addicts!
