This morning I had the opportunity to talk with the first female winner of The Biggest Loser. Ali is amazing and I was happy to find out that she lives not too far away from our office in Arizona. If we get the chance, I will meet up with her for a workout and post some pictures.

Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Ali, how cool to talk with you again and you won the show! Congratulations on winning, remind us all how you ended up on the show.

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples: All of my siblings are healthy and my whole family has watched the show except for me so they kept telling me to watch it. I would catch a few episodes here and there but didn’t really get into the show until I watched the season finale and saw how the experience changed the cast’s lives. I saw it and said I want to do this and I want to change my life. My mom and I downloaded the application but thought I would never get picked. One Thursday night my mom emailed me and said The Biggest Loser is in town casting in Mesa, AZ, so she went to hold a spot for me in line. Then a security guard told her they were casting couples and we were both like, here we go.

Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Since we have over 60,000 members on RealityWanted.com trying out for different reality shows, can you tell them what the audition process was like for you.

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples: What I realized is that there is a ton of paperwork and you’re signing a lot of paper before you even get on the show. My mom and I had a group interview, had photos taken, and did a video interview all in one day.

Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Were you nervous during the video shoot?

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples: I was so excited during the process but the issue was what I was wearing. Since I was heavier at the time I wore clothes to cover certain body parts and it was in Arizona and you know how hot it gets here. During the video I was sweating profusely. My advice to those applying for The Biggest Loser or any show for that matter would be to be yourself. They may not think you’re a fit for this season but you may get called back for another.

Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Tell us what it is like to be the first female Biggest Loser winner?

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples:  I can’t even begin to justify it in words. It is so amazing and I competed against so many fierce competitors. It hasn’t even fully set in yet. Last night I was sitting there saying to myself, “I am the winner of The Biggest Loser.”

Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: So very cool, I bet you have been busy since the finale.

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples:  I have been very busy, I have been doing the radio circuit, the dot com circuit and just did the Ellen DeGeneres show. I think it’s very important for me to help others. They only pick 20 people to be on the show out of thousands. I want to help empower others, and I feel I have a responsibility to do so.

Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com:  When you and I talked last I told you about how my good friend grabbed a few of your hair clients while you were away taping the show.  Since you just said you want to help others has this changed your career path?

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples:  I do want to help others in health and fitness. When I was a little girl I told my mom, God put me here to fill a void and help others in some way. I didn’t know in what way I would help others, but now I have a clear vision. I am looking at opportunities coming to me in health and fitness, so who knows?

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Well listen I know you have to run but when things calm down and you’re back in Arizona lets meet up, grab a workout or some healthy food and talk further. I am sure by then you will have more amazing stories to tell. Congratulations once again, your excitement and joy transferred through the TV set and I am sure you are unaware at just how many people you have inspired.

A. Ali, The Biggest Loser Couples: You got it, I look forward to talking with you again and thank you for your time.
