True Life: My Family Are Extremist

Many families have ideals and causes about which they feel strongly. What happens, though, when those beliefs are polarizing enough to make you an outcast in society or worse, label you as an extremist?

Extremists come in all shapes and sizes. Some even prefer to be called radicals. Perhaps your family focuses on religion, politics, feminism or even couponing? Do you often feel that people misunderstand your beliefs and are too quick to label you an extremist?

Do you come from a family of activists who devote their lives to protecting animal rights? Or maybe your parents are environmentalists who regularly tie themselves to trees in order to stop them from being cut down.
