About Me

Acting/Talent Experience:
I like to sing/dance/act in local community theatre. It's something I love to do on the side but not something I pursue as a career. I've got decent talent singing (wish I were a diva!) and acting. I also play piano well. It's all on the side but it's tons of fun!
Am I affiliated with unions?:
No
A major event in my life was:
When I was 13, my mother went away for almost a year to try to regain her mental health (it didn't work!). My parents had 6 kids and 4 were still at home. During that time my father was extremely sad and while he provided the necessities, I took care of my younger 2 siblings. My sister, 16 at the time, was mostly gone or when she was home she caused a ton of grief. In short, I feel that I grew up that year which is early. I developed a strong determination and sense of responsibility.
The accomplishment I am most proud of:
There are two main accomlpishments: when I was about 20, I believed my mother didn't treat us well and I wanted better for my sister. Moving out at 21 and taking legal custody of her at 17 and being able to support us is something I'm proud of. I worked hard on my career to make that possible. The other accomplishment is my marriage. It's only a few years old, but it is one of the most important aspects of my life and that is it so incredibly loving give me a sense of accomplishment.
An embarrassing story about me was:
At my first technical job, I used to sing in the server room early in the morning as I checked backups. One morning I was in a tad later than normal and I was singing from The Phantom of the Opera - loudly and BADLY - in an attempt to improve of course, lol. I'd just finished a good high part and in a few seconds I hear the door badge click. A manager walked in and told me, "while we all love to hear you sing... we're trying to have a meeting in the main conference room!!!" *dies*
My favorite Movie:
Don't have one but let's say "Moulin Rouge"
My favorite TV Show:
Um.... Daily Show? Scrubs?
My best Physical Trait is:
Good hair & lips
Topics off limit to me at a party are:
I'm pretty darn comfortable with most subjects. I think I would only have a problem if someone were expressing genuinely hate-filled sentiments. I.E. I can take (and tell) very offensive jokes, but only all in good fun. If there is true maliciousness in the person, that's a problem. This is probably because I'm light hearted and also can be amused at the riskee, but my serious side has a strict moral code. I believe it is important to be able to discuss any subject in an open minded way.
Do I have tattoos or piercings:
Just an imaginary one, lol. Oh! I have ear piercings - TWO OF THEM!!!!!
The weirdest thing about me is:
Not much but to the straight-laced... everything! If there is an environment where it is acceptable socially to be uninhibited, all my goofiness can come out. Example: in my younger days at parties, other people may be high or drunk. Sometimes I would not be drinking at all but since everyone has become less inhibited, I would relax and act extra-silly just for fun - they would just assume I'd been drinking, lol. Doing comedic roles in theater is another good outlet for excessive goofiness.
My friends would say my best qualities are:
I think my friends would say that my best qualities are loyalty and strength. These are things that you don't know about someone when you know only their personality but I am steadfast and strong when needed. They might also say my sense of humor.
My friends would say my worst qualities are:
It is possible that friends would refer to my occasional lack of tact. I'm actually very good at tact when I'm consciously on guard - I have been in customer service for years. However, when I decide it's unecessary such as when I get too relaxed assuming people understand I mean no harm or when I intentionally let go of tact, then my mouth can get me into trouble.
The personality traits I most like about myself are:
I like that I love to have fun and that I'm a good reliable and strong person to have as a friend or an employee. I like that my hypothetical moral code matches my actions in almost every instance. I also like that I'm very open about everything although this can cause problems as not everyone can handle that.
The personality traits I like least about myself are:
I wonder if I doubt myself more than is necessary. Example: I've had many doubts about myself in my career and my performance at my job. I know that I would be even better than I am if my heart was more focused on my current career. Yet in spite of these doubts, I learn on the sly that I got the best review this year of anyone in my department. So I'm a great employee to have, yet I still see my shortcomings. If I doubted less I would probably do even better than I do.
Miscellaneous Information:
I have other interesting points of history: I studied Kung Fu in China for a month. Good Times. People that know my goofy side are sometime surprised to learn of my sensible side and visa versa. Other stuff: my goal in life is wrapped around me getting a degree and changing careers to one where I can use my natural talents to help people. I have a strong interest in alternative medicine after some personal experiences. I like chocolate milk. Heck, I guess that's it! :-)
