Hi I am Sheldon Kalnitsky, appointed as the new president of the International Olympic Committee on 16 July 2001. The mild-mannered Belgian was considered favourite to succeed Juan Antonio Samaranch once it was announced that I would step down. I was also showed my prowess with the rugby ball by winning 10 caps for the Belgian national team. Two years later I moved up a level and became an official member of the International Olympic Committee.
