YORK COLLEGE, 'RENT'
York College Performing Arts Center is casting Rent, a contemporary musical based on Puccini's opera, La Boheme. In New York's East Village, a community of young artists and musicians struggles to find the inspiration to create and the will to survive, despite seemingly insurmountable challenges. Timothy J. Amrhein, dir.; Jonathan Quash, music dir. Performs May 4-6 & 11-13, 2012 at York College Performing Arts Center, Little Theatre, 94-45 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., Jamaica, Queens, NY.
Seeking—Roger and Tom Collins: males, 18-29, principal roles.
Auditions will be held Jan. 12, 6-8 p.m. & Jan. 13, noon-2 p.m. at York College Performing Arts Center, Little Theatre, 94-45 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., Jamaica, Queens, NY. Auditioning performers must prepare 16 bars of a song from Rent and bring a CD with instrumental accompaniment. Bring pix & résumés, stapled together.
