Sarah Jenkins (writer-dir.-prod.) is casting Journeymen, a
dramatic short film (approx. 13 min.) to be shot on the Sony NEX-FS100
camera. The story follows one night in the life of a boxing trainer who
is visited by a young fighter who died while under his guidance. Adam
Peltzman, prod. Rehearsals begin late Sept.-early Oct. 2011; shoots Oct.
7-9, 2011 in Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn, NY, with a possible additional shoot
day the following week.
Seeking-Fitz: male, 50-65, African-American, a seasoned boxing trainer dealing with the loss of his young fighter, a father figure, LEAD; Booby:
male, 18-25, African-American, a confident young boxer with a boyish
and playful nature, can be cocky and warm at the same time, athletic,
LEAD; Country: male, 60-70, African-American or Hispanic, a
career boxing trainer, friend of Fitz, a little prickly, but charming
and funny, supporting; Gerry: male, 50-70, Caucasian, a career
boxing trainer, friend of Fitz, blue collar, sweet, with a certain
innocence, supporting role.
