On this cold rainy Sunday I pass on something I learned a long time ago: Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn’t!

It's Friday so relax and enjoy your weekend with this in mind: The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.

Thursday is the Irish day to send wisdom to your friends so here it is just for you: Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Wishing you the best on this Wednesday with this thought: You don’t have to fear defeat if you believe it may reveal powers that you didn’t know you possessed. Now go get it!

Tuesday advise that you will want to remember: Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

A thought for this first Monday in 2012: The thing to remember is that that the future comes one day at a time.

Happy New Year 2012! You made another one. On New Year Eave, when you are thinking about 2012 and what you intend to accomplish, remember: Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other. Be safe tonight!

To my awesome friends, I'm leaving town today for New Years, and won't be able to post for a few days. So, I offer this, just a couple of days early: As the sun rose over the horizon on a beautiful January 1, 2012, a young man entered a towering skyrise. He looked far too young, and far, far too mischievous to have a desk here, but plopped into a cubicle, and tossed his feet onto the desk. The light on his phone was blinking, and he picked up to listen to this message: "Dear Murphy. As CEO of the Corporation of People who Need to get Stuff Done This Year, it has been my task to examine numerous complaints regarding your conduct. After due consideration of the offenses on record, I regret to tell you that I have decided to let you go. Please kindly take your law, and GTFO. Sincerely, Julia." Seemingly unfazed by this message...Murphy only snickered. 2012...was certain to be interesting. Haha! Here's hoping you have an awesome year!

It's Friday and we are getting close to the 2012, so I say this: Youth is when you're allowed to stay up late on New Year's Eve. Middle age is when you're forced to.

A Thursday suggestion for a New Years Party: If you want an interesting party sometime, combine cocktails and a fresh box of crayons for everyone!

As the final days of 2011 tick by, I attached something I have learned in all my years: If you wish to succeed in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience your wise counselor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius. It worked for me!

Remember on this final Tuesday of 2011: Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

A big thought for the day after Christmas: Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
