Am I affiliated with unions?:
Yes
A major event in my life was:
It's not one event, but many — I've traveled to more than 50 countries on 6 continents, circumnavigating the globe twice.
Now I feel connected to pretty much the whole planet.
Eventually I landed a gig as a travel writer for Forbes Traveler, which was great, and that led to a deal with Bloomsbury for my next book.
The accomplishment I am most proud of:
My memoir of ten years of Jeopardy! appearances, Prisoner of Trebekistan (Random House, 2006), was picked up by Paramount and is currently in feature film development with an A-list star (whom I cannot name here) signed to play me.
My best Physical Trait is:
My eyes. Very blue.
The weirdest thing about me is:
I have an affection for tiny, vulnerable animals like pudu, dik-diks, chevrotains, etc. If you don't know what these are, use the Google and prepare to share my affection.
My friends would say my best qualities are:
I'm super-hard-working, funny, kind, and kinda bright. I'm massively well-traveled, confident, and able to pick up new skills very quickly.
Plus, I have the strength of ten men.
Granted, six of them are sick, two are very old, and one is a conscientious objector. So it's not much help, really.
The personality traits I most like about myself are:
Curiosity. So far I've been to more than 50 countries all over the world, and I never tire of seeing new places, meeting new people, and trying new things.
I also have enough of a sense of humor to have made a living making people laugh for over 20 years.
Miscellaneous Information:
I've also written episodes of Bones and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation; created puzzles for the New York Times op-ed section; and appeared as a talking head on CNN.
Hablo español casi con fluidez, et je parle français bien assez. I can also transliterate anything in Cyrillic (Russian, Serbian, Bulgarian, etc.) or Arabic scripts (Farsi, Pashto, Urdu, etc.) This makes getting lost rather difficult.
