Q. Mark, Realitywanted.com: Whose idea was it to apply for The Biggest Loser Couples, you or Jay?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: This is a great story, Jay and I are avid sports and Red Sox fans. From what I understand The Biggest Loser had an open casting in town, Jay and I had no idea nor had we watched the show and/or applied. One Saturday Jay and I went to a game at Fenway Park with our daughters. We were leaving the stadium when we were approached by a girl who was in casting, then we asked what show she was working on and she said The Biggest Loser.

Q. Mark, Realitywanted.com: Ok, so I have often thought about that, meaning I wondered if anyone would be offended if approached out of the blue to be on a weight loss show.

APPLY NOW TO THE BIGGEST LOSER 6

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: Well, Jay gave her some crap asking if we looked fat. She then invited us to come to the callbacks they were having on Monday to talk to her boss. From that point on, Jay and I looked at one another and said we are heavy and this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: So you never watched a prior episode?

A Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: My wife was a huge fan of the show and when we told her what happened she was very excited. I did watch a few episodes after we were in the application process.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: You and your brother rocked many of the challenges what was the hardest challenge you took part in?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: The hardest one for me was the first day when we had to run up the hill, touch flag pole, comeback and pick a trainer. It was a long hot day and we started early, everyone on the show was out of shape. Even though we finished first it was still hard to do.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I assume you have been watching the show, any surprises?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: I think I was surprised by Jackie, she acted one way in your face and another way when you were not around. She came across nice to your face but sadistic in the background, maybe sadistic is the wrong word. Jackie isn’t a bad person but she got wrapped up in the game.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I spoke with Jackie a few weeks ago and she said she understood why you guys kicked her off but wasn’t happy at how you guys lied to her and promised on your kid’s lives you would not kick her off.

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: One of the biggest things I said in my confessional that I don’t think is getting played is being up front and honest with her. When we did what we did to her we didn’t feel right about it. Then again, I didn’t feel Jackie was honest with us when she water loaded to get rid of Jay and I. Jackie has been saying she was upset we lied to her and/or didn’t tell her we were going to kick her off but she didn’t come tell me she was going to rig the votes to get Jay and I kicked off so I didn’t feel she deserved any information from me prior to her elimination. I don’t regret voting for her out I regret not telling her.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What about the drama early on in the season with Jenn, when that meeting had to be called after the medicine ball challenge?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: There were a few people mad at how I treated my brother but we are brothers, grew up together and it’s not the first time we yelled at one another.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Since you didn’t seek out help for weight loss like some of the other cast members, what do you think lead to overeating?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: In the beginning, I would always say my weight gain was caused by traveling so I would eat fast food. I also realized some internal issues lead to weight gain as well.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Such as?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: What I realized is that I tried to be strong for everyone else in my life and internalized all of my feelings, so to make myself feel better I turned to food. I would be strong for others and leave myself an emotional mess. I now realize that I need to be strong and admit I can also be weak.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: If you had to pick a person to be your partner besides your brother who would it be and why?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: There is no one else I would do this with besides Jay, even if there are people that would work harder. I know what Jay is about and it was my pleasure and honor to be there with my brother.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Who would you not pick and why?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: There are several I would not partner with but if I had to do the show with someone other than Jay it would be Ali.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Why Ali?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: Ali has a similar mental and physical makeup. She will do what it takes to get the job done.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Can you tell us what you weigh now and what your target weight for the finale will be?

A. Mark, The Biggest Loser Couples: I have lost about 95 pounds and would love to show up at the finale at 145. However, I would love to live life weighing in the low 170’s or high 160’s.

Mark, RealityWanted.com: Thank you so much for your time Mark and we will all look forward to seeing your transformation at The Biggest Loser Finale.
