NBC announced John Legend will join the musical competition series "The Voice" in the upcoming spring cycle in 2019. Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton also return, as well as host Carson Daly.
"I'm thrilled to join the coaches of 'The Voice.' I've been a guest and mentor on the show multiple times and I'm so excited to discover talented singers and help them make the most of their gift. I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL," Legend said in a statement from NBC's press release.
Legend won an Emmy on Sunday as producer of "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert." He previously won an Oscar in 2015 for "Glory," his original song co-written with Common for the movie "Selma." As one of the most talented and versatile artists in entertainment, Legend is a great choice for a coach on "The Voice."
