'Ladies of London': Dirty Martinis and Dirty Rumors

Did you know: Caroline Fleming had a tv show in Denmark called "The Baroness Moves In", and now has 3 cookbooks under her belt with another, very Danish one, on the way. People think she got a huge divorce settlement, something close to 400,000,000 pounds ($488,000,000+ USD). The truth is that she has to work for a living and all the rumors are untrue. How untrue we don't really know. Upon visiting her homestead, Valdemar Slot, has over 2100 acres, a 90,000 square foot estate house, and constant upkeep. No longer do these types of properties run on agriculture, now they run on renting out houses and leasing venues for events. That's where Caroline is involved. Her cookbooks and perfumes are sold in the boutique to encourage visitors which equal revenue to keep the estate up. But all she really wants is unconditional love from her father.

Julie's daughter, Emma, is moving to Scotland to attend University and getting ready for the Leaver's Ball, which is a graduation/prom celebration with lots of drinking. Legal drinking age in the UK is 18, don't forget. Julie is going to have to lean on her lady friends to fill the void of her only daughter leaving the nest. Sounds like a recipe for disaster... and tears.

Caroline Stanbury can admit her stubbornness but can she admit her hard-headed behaviors to her best friends? While her husband feels like forgiveness is in order, Caroline feels more like niceness isn't her thing. She's more ready than ever to move to Dubai especially after hearing that the other Ladies feels that she is running away from something. Namely legal issues. Although, Caroline is right, you can't run to the Middle East to escape legal issues. And apart from that, it would appear that running away from the women digging up said legal issues would be more to escape from anyways. Looking at you, Marissa.

Marissa is on the mend, her baby is out of the hospital, and she's ready to pump and dump... (drinking alcohol, pumping breast milk, then dumping it). Also known as: she's ready to get back out on the social scene. This means a watermelon martini cocktail party courtesy of Mama Marissa. But first she has to convince her ever pressing husband about staying in London, even though California is her original home. She reluctantly agrees to make the trip to Cali an "extended holiday" rather than a permanent move.

The most dramatic thing to come out of the cocktail party is Caroline S. and Adela's altercation. What it comes down to is Caroline S. feels like no one should speak negatively to her and she is unwilling to forgive Adela for her harsh words. Adela tries to bring Caroline out of her castle and explains that her attitude should be forgiven given the fact that she had just been told she has no chance of getting back custody of her kids. In case you missed this, Adela has struggled with addiction for over 20 years with several stints in rehab, to which her (ex) husband uses against her. It's a fact that seems to put Caroline in her place and brings out a bit of empathy. In her interview, however, Caroline says that she believes that Adela's children are old enough to say they want their mom, but aren't saying that at all. So perhaps Adela is wasting her money fighting for them. Way harsh, Tai. True maybe?
