The contestants are headed to their hometown to reflect on how they got here to the last ever season of American Idol. It's also the last episode on this stage, next week they move to the Dolby Theater. This past week the contestants got a chance to meet Ray Romano doing voice over work for Ice Age, and might we say... La'Porsha is good at this type of thing, too. We should add that the winner of American Idol will get to record a song to be featured in the new Ice Age movie.

Dalton - Dallas, TX - "Calling You" - Dalton's first stop is his grandmothers hair salon for a highlight touch-up. Cute.

La'Porsha - McComb, MI - Glory - How cute that her daughter was on her lap, waving, during her personal parade? Her first stop was church to sing with the choir.

Trent - Amory, MI - Tennessee Whiskey - He hasn't seen his family since the beginning of the competition because he's superstitious. His first stop was his families restaurant, second stop his school theater.

Mackenzie - Lafayette, LA - "Alleluia" - Sports was his life until he was sidelined by an infection, but that led him to music.

Something not missing from anyone's hometown visit are tears. Who could keep from breaking down when the same town that caused your teenage angst is the same town now giving you a parade? But someone must go home and stay home, revealing the Top 3. That person is Mackenzie. Slightly shocking but doesn't really change the outcome we have hall been anticipating.

Now the Top 3 get to perform again:
Dalton - "Dancing In The Dark" - Awesomely 90's pop-rock version of The Boss.
La'Porsha - "Stay With Me" - She is so confident, and rightfully so. But just one rock out session, please.
Trent - "Drink You Away" - A pop star's version of country, and it suits Trent well.

The Tope 3 perform... once again (do you think they're exhausted?):
Dalton - "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" - it may be a judge's pick, but it's just one thumb up.
La'Porsha - "Hello" - She made it a soulful, run-y version. Two thumbs up.
Trent - "Waiting Game" - Two thumbs up.

A La'Porsha and Trent finale? Thoughts?
