It's time for the solo rounds. Say so long to the groups and the drama because if you ain't got it, you ain't got it. They have to pick and learn a song in one night to perform in front of the judges, not given any feedback, then placed in three rooms to wait and see who makes it through. Although there is a list of songs, any song can only be chosen by three contestants... disappointing many.

Stephany Negrete, 21, sang Adele. Ambitious but not Adele.
Thomas Stringfellow, 17, sang "A Thousand Years" scruffy enough, but his quirk is diminishing.
Avalon Young, 21, sang Ariana Grande and did it justice, but doesn't seem to care about appearance. And although that shouldn't matter, it simply does.
Olivia Rox, 16, sang an original song. The quirk is still working for this one and her pink stripped hair.
John Wayne Shultz, 28, sang a Keith Urban song without his lost cowboy hat. While it didn't suck, it wasn't overwhelmingly amazing. This all-american has a story, though.
MacKenzie Bourg, 23, sang an original song. Very John Mayer-esque.
Shelbie Z., 23, sang "Alone", dressing her mic with a scarf a la Steven Tyler but worked that stage.
Kory Wheeler, 27, sang "Fix You" with a scratchy voice but not too much personality.
James VIII, 24, sang "Wicked Game". A good blues-y version but not OMG.
Tristan McIntosh, 14, sang "What Hurts The Most" (given up by another contestant so she could sing it) in her own flat affect kind of way. Her voice does all the work but you just want Tristan to open her expressions up.
Sonika Vaid, 20, sang Ariana Grande. We get it, big voices want big songs. I can't wait to hear something new out of her.
Lee Jean, 16, sang "Stitches". This kid always surprises me in the best kind of way.
Sara Sturn, sang "Somewhere Only We Know". Not as good as her new BFF, Lee, but sweet and raspy in her own right. Duets in their future?
Jenn Blosil, 23, sang "True Colors". I love Jenn. She's second guessing her performance but she's got it, we've seen it before.
Emily Brooke, 17, sang "What Hurts The Most". Not everyone's cup of tea, but kitschy in her own way.
Malie Delgado, 21, sang "Stitches" while also dealing with laryngitis. Eek! The judges are empathetic but can they hear past it?
Mionne Destiny, 20, sang "Chains". Is she also battling laryngitis or just fatigue? She had tons of personality during the performance, though.
Jessica Cabral, 21, sang through her voice troubles and all with her eyes closed. This worship leader found her gift.
Joshua Wicker, 25, sang "A Thousand Years". Maybe not the best song choice? Maybe homesick? Not fantastic although very emotional.
CJ Johnson, 28, sang "Go Your Own Way'. He pretty much just yelled at us, but that's ok.
Jeneve Rose Mitchell, 15, sang "Danny's Song". I love this girl. She is her own person 100%. Please, AI, if she makes it, don't change her.
Dalton Rapattoni, 19, sang "Hopelessly Devoted". Yep. 'Grease'. I'm not sure why he strummed his guitar for 2 seconds before he started singing, but ok.

After the contestants are sent to their separate rooms, the number quickly goes from 75 to 50. With only one more night of Hollywood Round, there will be only one room of 24 left. Among those gone are Josh Wicker, Malie Delgado, John Wayne Shultz and his lucky cowboy hat.

Here's the Top 24:

Stephany Negrete, Shelbie Z., La'Porsha Renae, Jordan Sasser, Tristan McIntosh, Jenn Blosil, Gianna Isabella, Emily Brooke, Olivia Rox, Sonika Vaid, Thomas Stringfellow, Manny Torres, Dalton Rapattoni, Avalon Young, Lee Jean, Amelia Eisenhauer, CJ Johnson, Jeneve Rose Mitchell, Jenna Renae, James VIII, Kory Wheeler, Adam Lasher, Trent Harmon, and MacKenzie Bourg.
